I doubt Russians are paying for music anyway, but if there's one good thing that comes from this boycott it should be the destruction of global IP monopolies that have made certain people undeservedly wealthy and powerful. Let Russia declare all foreign copyrights null and void. Nationalize whatever property and technology they have left in the country. Break into big tech systems and take all their source code. Let's take this economic war as far as it can go.
I have thought of many ways in which Russia can escalate this to the detriment of the regime. Some have speculated officially hosting piracy sites, though that is small potatoes. Some others have talked about placing nuclear missiles in Cuba, which while certainly a power play, is not exactly what I consider desirable.

See, the logic behind this is asinine. Their excuse is to not participate or allow Russia to participate in a shared economy.
But preventing Russians from spending money in a foreign economy doesn't harm them any. It helps them.
To actually harm the Russian economy you have to do the opposite and not BUY from the Russian economy.
The former enables Russia to hold onto capital. The latter drains them of capital. Especially if the Russians can still buy from non russian companies, but none of their own stuff is being bought.
