Parental neglect. Parents replace time spent parenting with time spent feeding because said parents are lazy as fuck and don't want to put in the effort required raising a child. Similar issue placating children with a display screen, be that a tablet/phone or letting that TV raise them.
Sure these things being a modern facet of the world are important to have some experience with as both social and work interactions can rely on them, however fully shifting the responsibility from parent to object will cause problems like the pic above. Simply because the parents involved are shit for various reasons.
Abuse. Parents are overfeeding her for one, but maybe she was also victimized in another way and turned to food to cope. Maybe a broken home, depression. You see this on 600lb Life, these people have sad childhoods and are often fat even at 2, 4, 6 years old.
An abusive culture bred abusive parents that bred a broken child.
Ugh. Anyone letting their child get this fat needs to be prosecuted for child abuse.

That's "healthy". Right. Just like AIDS is "indiscriminate". (Saw that a couple of days ago, nearly blew coffee out my nose.)
Virus only kills extremely unhealthy people, but we need to shut down the entirety of society just to protect them when they refuse to help themselves.

They need to make a correction somewhere because they listed obesity as a contributing factor in covid deaths in a previous article.
If she dies her parents killed her. We know obesity is bad enough on it's own, but also makes up a big chunk of covid deaths. Poor kid has probably been miserable for a long, long time at that size. Now to get sick and be put on display like this... Might give a temporary boost of attention but probably also attract some nasty comments now and down the line that will really hurt her. I'd love to see pics of her parents, at least one is probably overweight too. Don't get a handle on their own problems, pass them on to their kids, then parade them for sympathy or something.
Consider this.... If she didn't, don't you think they would have mentioned it? The fact that they didn't might answer your question.
