Stunning and brave. I'll see if I can find it again but I think I saw a picture saying "there would be no England team without immigration" on top of a photo of the team. I guess the implication is that if the players were all white they'd be shit.
I did notice a lot of attention for Bukayo Saka for basically giving the game to the Italians. He was 19 year old so maybe he should not have been the one taking a critical penalty shot so I do feel like his race was a reason for picking him, like hey look a black dude just saved the game for England, multiculturalism works and all that.
But I may be just paranoid at this point.

You mean lost on purpose by replacing two fantastic white players we had planned all game with two brown players who weren’t even warned up to take penalty kicks and missed both shots?
I feel bad for the kid as well, I just think he was put in that position do to his race. Don't get me wrong, I'm not sure if he picked do to his race or not but the current culture makes it a very likely case.
Similar with how every time there is a black guy or women announced as a new hire on a project I work I expect it to be an affirmative action hire that will be incompetent, unfortunately I tend to be right.
I'm not following soccer / football close enough to give a more educated guess on the situation but I would be interested to know why the 3 minority guys were put in the team to begin with, how good are they really? was there any alternative that was passed on just because they wanted to diversify the team? I smell racism, but who knows, I doubt anyone would investigate that so I'm just glad they lost.

People are loving bashing on england as a country a people and a race, but not for a "subsect of english people and race" so absolutely not.
So, if I'm reading this right, UK lost 3-2 on Penalty Kicks. Of the 5 UK kicks, the 2 that scored where by white people, and the 3 that missed were by black people. On top of that, one of the black people was taking his first-ever penalty kick on a big stage, and the other two were literally substituted in just to take the penalty kicks after having sat on the bench the whole game. That seems odd to me.
It was odd to literally anyone who was paying attention. I saw people on twitter, black people, too, before the kicks were even taken, tweeting about the insanity of the substitutions.
To send youngsters up at the last minute after an hour and a half on the bench, to perform the penalty kick that makes or breaks everything the whole team has worked for... No pressure, kid! Try not to have nightmares about this for the rest of your life!
Happens all the time. Some players are really good at penalty kicks but not better than other players in the rest of the aspects of the game.

You're right, it does, but I feel sorry for this guy's downvotes. He should be right. Someone who's been on a bench for 2 hours watching their mates kick a ball without doing it themselves is not ready to take one critical kick which will decide one of the biggest sports results on the planet. I feel sorry for Saka (although he was on the pitch longer, there had to have been better choices than him at that point), having that on your shoulders at 19 is a joke.
Lots of tactical things happen all the time which I think are stupid, for example the English defensive shift after scoring 2 minutes in. It sucks, it doesn't work, yet it isn't rare.
Was the guy that psyched himself out the one whose first penalty kick it was? He like started then stopped halfway through the kick.
My guess it was an affirmative action applied to a game, they wanted diversity and inclusion, it was a risk/ reward type deal. I can see if you were very social justice oriented doing this. It would have been a great cudgel to use against those who oppose multiculturalism. I can guarantee you that if England won all the headlines would have been about how diversity won the game.

I think it was your typical leftist win-win calculation: If you win the gamble- "Diversity works, everyone!" and if it fails "Look at all this racism! We need to stan BLM harder instead of playing better football!". Either way, they get to push their narrative, which was always the goal.

The diversity officers have spent months telling us the England teams successes would be owed to its diversity, and instead, what happened? The three black guys all missed.
To be clear - they didn't miss because they were black - they missed, in all likelihood, because they were some of the youngest and most inexperienced players on the team. But it's still funny to see the leftist hubris get a reality check.
...Which begs the question of why some of the youngest players, those most likely to crack under pressure, were subbed on at the end of the game and put into the position of taking the final penalties - spare a thought for the 19 year old kid who just had the whole country watch him lose the European cup final.
I can't help but wonder if this highly questionable decision at the end of the game was made with the deliberate hope that the face of England's victory would be an African one. It really wouldn't surprise me at this point.
It definitely was. Nobody remembers or cares about the first couple penalty shooters. It's always on the goalies and kickers 3,4,5 who could potentially win it. And all 3 blaqqs on the English team were shots 3, 4, and 5, with the blackest one of all at the anchor spot.
So if they won its vindication of multiculturalism, muh diversity is strength and all that. The three blacks would've been feted as the 3 Lions of England and none of the white players on the team would have received any praise.
