"My goal is to bring Hungary to its knees on this issue," he [Rutte] said.

Imagine speaking like this and still thinking you're the good guy. And/or not a massive faggot.

They know they're the bad guys, they simply don't care. There are people in this world who are completely immoral. They should be identified and opposed.

Normally the ones in power, like Rutte here, have to at least make a cursory effort to not sound like a Sauron/Zod knockoff though. If this guy, who is apparently what passes for a 'conservative-liberal' in the Netherlands, is going full mask-off - for better or for worse, we're almost certainly already in the globalist endgame (something I think is also made clear by Canada finally openly becoming a woke dictatorship & shedding all remaining pretense to the contrary).

Any countries that are not going to be forcing vaccines down people's throats in the nearest 10 years? Looks like the 1st world is forsaken in that regard, but I was thinking maybe Asia is cool?

Not necessarily: although generally quite anti-woke, Asian countries & cultures are also very big on obeying the established authorities, and if those authorities should mandate vax passports, well...as Japan is doing, BTW.

The list of places to flee grows thin indeed. Maybe Botswana, which is one of the very few functioning & livable African countries and got that way because they actually reconciled with & integrated their white inhabitants. But tbh, I'd encourage organizing locally to resist wokedom's march and try to preserve normality wherever you live, or at least move into a red state if you're American & have the bad luck of living in a blue one. If the US falls completely, I don't think there'll be anywhere to run.

I fully expect blue states to have state troopers and local leo's look for and pull over out of state cars to check for their vax pass and fine them for not having one. More revenue and a good virtue signal as well. They won't be able to ban people from states without vax passes but there's no laws say they can't fine and detain them for 2 weeks if they're not just passing through for public health reasons.

I don't think we should necessarily operate under the assumption that people will wake up to the reality facing us. An opposition to evil needs to be mounted regardless.

It'll take something un-ignorable like the DOJ and ATF making good on their threats to Missouri and Texas ignoring federal gun laws and rolling tanks into Jefferson and Austin and some motard capping some fleeing politicians.

Right? Orban is laughing. Look at how hard the EU worked to stop Brexit, like they would ever cut Hungary loose. They're bluffing.

Isn't that precisely the reason cited for why joining the EU was a devastating mistake for Greece? Tying their economy to a country like Germany through the euro is crippling them.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 9 ▼
– krzyzowiec 9 points 4 years ago +9 / -0

For Greece, yes. Hungary and Poland for example do not use the Euro. They keep saying they will eventually do so, but have delayed for almost two decades now.

This is how they are able to maintain independence while still benefiting from being in the EU, and why any pressure from the EU has not meant much. They will never give up sovereignty, and the EU is too afraid of losing members to do much about it.

I predict the status quo will remain until the EU falls apart.

This is the problem with turning your trade agreement into a supra-national prestige project. Conflicting goals.

Economically, it would seem to make sense to turn Hungary loose - there's a lot of investment required before any chance of return.

Politically ... it's fairly clear Hungary is intended to become a debt colony eventually, they just won't comply for now. So the EU will keep hammering away at it until Hungary makes a mistake and gives the EU the opportunity to annex their economy.

That paltry amount is meaningless though, compared to what Germany and others gain from access to those markets. The 2% of GDP goes into building roads for German goods to go to those countries, and for finished product made by local labor to make it back to Germany.

Both sides gain, but Western Europeans gain more than they lose, that's why they are all bark and no bite.

They can only push so far. People always ask why Germany or France don't kick people out, or why nations like Poland or Hungary don't leave. The answer is simple, they are both benefiting from the arrangement. The minute that changes, either one side leaves or there will be war.

I agree, Italy is most disappointing. I think the adoption of the euro and easy credit that came with it has corrupted Greece and Italy far beyond what they were capable of on their own.

Sadly they do not possess the spirit to leave. Money is more important to them than virtue. That's why I am glad Poland was not tempted. The country would be destroyed if the euro were ever adopted.

It's pretty transparent. Hungary and Poland often back each other up against leftist bullshit from the Eurocrats. Brussels wants one of them removed so they can't veto in favor of the other anymore, so that they can force whichever remains to bow.

The best move is to tell them to eat shit, stay right where they are, and tack on more anti pedo laws. The EU has no realistic means to remove members.

Hungary and Poland are Catholic USSR vassal bros, they both know what it's like to have an atheistic world power clamp their nuts while the world just watches.

Hungary and Poland have a very long history and the Soviet Union has little to do with that (but does some, namely 1956).

Since the Middle Ages, the kingdoms of Poland and Hungary have had shared borders, shared rulers, common values, common interests and perhaps more importantly common enemies.

The Visegrad Group (V4) is an informal regional format of cooperation between the four Central European countries: Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary, which are not only linked by neighbourhood and similar geopolitical situation but above all by common history, traditions, culture, and values.

Finally someone saying this totally obvious thing about it:

But again Hungary has maintained that it's all about the protection of children at a time that transgender advocates and even certain NGOs operating in Europe and elsewhere in the globe are actively seeking to convince young people to take irreversible steps to alter their bodies through surgeries and be subject to potentially dangerous hormone treatments.
...
It says that for minors under 18, sexual education has to be appropriate and what we don’t want is the intrusion of so-called LGBTQ+ lobby NGOs and pressure groups walking into kindergartens and schools to explain to children why it’s a great idea to have hormone treatments and operations to change their sex before they’re 18. These are not acceptable practices."

If I told you I wanted to dominate your children so thoroughly they'd cut off their genitals to please me there would be a riot.

But if I phrase the same thing as "trans rights" suddenly you get a bunch of people acting totally differently.

Also, just think about the fact that anyone can be an activist. You have to have no qualifications or anything. You just claim that, walk in and lefties want you to have kids handed to you.

Daily reminder that Hungary spent 50 years occupied and oppressed by the USSR. They were the first nation to rebel against the Soviets and, while their trucks with sheet metal bolted on got ran over by tanks, they still fought for their attempt to control their own destiny. Hungarians know very well what it's like to be controlled by a foreign power that doesn't have their interests in mind.

Dang, if only Britain knew they could have easily and smoothly exited the EU just by banning child sexual grooming. Sure, it would be a massive loss for their Rotherham community, but I think it's a loss that Britain could take. They wasted so much time with those negotiations and giving heaps of money to the EU, when they could have solved it so much easier!
