She knows she has to boil the frog much slower.

She also knows that if somehow another Trump style leader rises, the bill can be used against them. Its something Communist Dems don't understand. They only see the Ends justifying the means.

Looks like Pelosi of all people is one of the few Dems with enough self-awareness to realize this might come back to haunt them. Which is a really scary thought because ... well ... it's Pelosi.

It's not completely off the table, though. She still supports Biden's executive-order commission. Edit: Maybe she just thinks it has a better chance of passing if it goes through the commission first.

Might also be she saw how stupid the Dems idea was to change the requirements for court senate confirmations with Obama and realize that if they pack the court with 4 new justices Republicans (if they ever get power back) will add 40

I don't think she fears Republican retaliation. Republicans don't retaliate, they just pretend that they have "principles" and just try to use bitching and moaning rather than action to garner support.

Yep. I want to fight for my country, but other repubs tell me to calm down.

If the Democrats do this, I hope that when Republicans retake the Senate and presidency, they do nothing but appoint Supreme Court justices for the entire time they're in power.

The commission is a way to kick the can down the road and say to their base “We’re looking into it.” They know it would open a can of worms that they could not control if actual communists (not these champagne communists/make believe socialist) get ahold of it.

Unlimited expansion is an incredible threat to the current power structure. Dems and Reps woudl not benefit from expanding it. All it takes is one crazy wave of populists and the entire structure is compromised.

Theyre panicking pretty goddamned hard over the voter ID laws, i still don't have much hope for future elections but... something tells me they realized they went way overboard and people noticed.

It isn't unlimited expansion. Any additional judges right now would be incredibly Machiavellian. There is a risk them weilding the near unlimited power of the court to crown themselves, since there is an obvious vacuum right now.

Imagine if they ruled that every politician's private property was owned by the people.

So a typical Dem is more retarded than Pelosi.

We should follow the Romans and put a horse in the Senate. It'd even be smarter.

A vote for the GOP is a vote for leftists who drive the speed limit.

Despite the downvotes this is the fucking truth. Find a fuckin' GOP politician that will go on record as saying women don't belong in the military at all. That's the bare minimum anyone calling themselves "conservative" should be willing to do.

I think the downvotes were for the glowing, not for the criticism of the GOP - and basically every supposedly right-wing party on the planet.

Very well, that is very wise.

I don't know why you would expect me to know your history. I was just commenting on what you were appearing to suggest there. Such people are glowies in my book, because they're doing stuff that will result in the destruction of this community.

The GOP has a lot of weak clowns so I can agree with your criticism of them.

Voting for the Democrats to induce accelerationism and expecting America's current unorganized right to fight back is not a smart idea.

I think what is best now is to vote for the less radical candidate to preserve what semblance of quality of life we have while building parallel communities of like minded individuals for when things do get kinetic.

Why the fuck would you accelerate when the right atm has no structure and no control over any major instuitions.

This is the time for community building not accelerationism.

Make no mistake, this isn't about fear, Nancy Pelosi isn't supporting the bill because it is too narrow. If court-packing is to be voted, she wants it to be because the Republicans will look significantly worse by rejecting it. Right now, there is no threat to Republicans by rejecting the bill. Instead, she wants court-packing to be included in something like the US budget or in some kind of economic aid package. That way, Pelosi and the media can fully ignore the objections of Republicans and just claim that Republicans "don't care about the people."

Why?

The bitch is evil to the core, why in the world would she oppose it? With the amount of propaganda, voter fraud and mass immigration Republicans will not get back in power during our life time.

So what is there for them to not pack the courts? For some reason it scares me, what the fuck are the democrats planning that would scare the evil witch.

What the fuck are you talking about?

She’s not scared; a bunch of overzealous morons in her party got a little too self-assured and introduced legislation that still will not pass.

For all the doom and gloom that floats around in this forum, we’re still not at peak frog boil. She knows it, so she’s slapping the upstarts down until Pepe is well and truly dead.

The average voter believes what ever the propaganda machine is going to tell them. If they are going to say we need to pack the courts to solve racism or patriarchy, solve the climate crisis, stop covid or help poor immigrant rapist get a better life in US then they will consider it a good thing and cheer Biden.

All the media outlets will run articles about this was long overdue and how it was in fact Republicans that have packed the courts and the Democrats just un-packed it. I'm convinced that Democrats can get away with mass murder.

But lets say that by some miracle the voter would start to care, what will they do? Protest in the streets? Vote for evil nazi republicans? Don't make me laugh.

They're planning on continuing to win elections, which will not happen if they push such hare-brained schemes, contrary to the claims of some glowies.

I think she recognizes that this is overreach.

Regardless, it's nothing to fear. Cocaine Mitch should just announce that the GOP will put double the number of judges the Democrats puts on the court. Given the structural advantage that the GOP has in the Senate, that can only be bad for the Democrats.
