I was in a random streamer's discord the other day out of boredom and checked the politics channel because i hate myself and it was about what you'd expect.
Suffice to say i cut that shit right out.
The only poltics channels i hang out in are /pol/ lite.
Still remember getting into it in another streamer's discord because it was ooooh it was a proper eurofag anti NA circlejerk and i took a giant shit in their punch bowl with their little migrant problem and they asked for citations and i provided them and suddenly i'm not in the channel any more and i have an "Ignorant prick" message from his UK mod, fucking tremendous, caught a permaban, and nothing of value was lost.
Sent some statistics back before he blocked me, was a good day.
Dankula's discord isn't bad though, just have to block a couple of bots/people so you don't get nikado avocado's blown out asshole in your face every fucking minute. Theres another one that i like to keep on the down low though, full blown shitposting between the two though, its great, like having an imageboard in real time in discord.

Twitch was so yesterday. I left that trash five years ago.
I managed to avoid the craze because watching people play games doesn't appeal to me.
But I did check it out not too long ago and it was just as awful as I thought it might be.

Twitch is straight cancer. The mods get overzealous, the gamer is super egotistical and the content got so toxic that I left. Same for discord, twatter and FB. 4Chan/pol is toxic right now.
Gab is good and I like Parler. Bitchute is ok and Rumble needs time to grow.

I think the emote was actually originally named after the literal 90s game pogs, at least that that's what the old writeups suggest. The gootecks guy had recently done and won a goof video about playing pogs with some other streamers when the emote was first introduced, so it was named pog champ after that happening.
The play of the game thing also makes a kind of sense as a post-hoc rationale though, since the emote was used for the exact kind of surprise/excitement that you'd expect after seeing some crazy play being pulled off.
That's a backronym. The original POGchamp emote referred to two separate events. The picture of Gootecks making a surprised face was from an outtake video of him and his co-host, when a cameraman bumped their tripod and shook the camera. The actual POGChamp term comes from a slightly later, scripted, video where they were playing POGs and Gootecks trumped his opponent by using a MadCatz fightstick as a slammer. At the end of the video he makes a smug face and says "pogchamp". The "Play/Player of Game" thing came around later when people tried to put a different meaning to it.
That was my question, too. I still have no idea what the game was. I just remember the damn things were everywhere for a while. If I remember correctly, the Playmates Star Trek: TNG action figures even came with them for a while. Man, I miss the 90s...

There's DLive, but that's mostly edgelords, it seems, and their "crypto" currency still seems like a big pyramid scheme.
As far as I know, there is currently no clear and effective Twitch replacement for gaming livestreaming, at least none that would meet all the requirements.
I heard of DLive because, hmm, was it Pewdiepie who went there for a bit? Then left? Dunno. I heard negative things about it (can't remember what even) so never checked it out. The only real competition for Twitch that I know of is YouTube, and there is not a snow man's chance in hell I am streaming there.
