I was saying it from the perspective of my experience as a member of the audience. Recall the people that justify their victimization instead of doubting their worldview. Compare that with people who change their minds. As audience, I prefer one of those endings more than the other.
I don't really think in terms of sides or political warfare. I expect the world to continue to crumble for as long as I live. This is just entertainment, hopefully with a nice lesson at the end.
What does she think now, though? That's what matters most.
EDIT - okay so I went ahead and looked into it. The woman (name is Estíbaliz Kortazar) was a volunteer in some organization that helps the homeless. Full of goodwill and wanting to help, she took in some homeless Arab migrant, both signing a rent contract for €350 per month. After a few months it all went to hell and he spooked her away, taking over the place (Spain has strong squatter rights). She now says she'll never rent a room or offer that kind of help again.
The price of feel-good naiveté.
Get stabbed thrice and you can't even shoot the guy, you have to struggle against him with a non-lethal baton while he holds a knife and your punctured organs bleed.
Anyway, what do you even call this: soft-suicide by cop?
- Some vague irrealistic storyline about Paramount getting sued and how Trump might cancel South Park (?)
I think they were implying that Colbert was cancelled for being anti-trump instead of nobody caring to watch his show.
But yeah, the episode was shit. Like I've said before, the writers lost touch at least since 2016. They don't know what they're doing anymore.
I guess I've adopted the only attitude that'll protect me form this kind of disillusionment. Call me jaded, or mature, but the solution is to stop caring about this stuff. Don't watch their garbage, don't give them money.
Probably.
