Big talk coming from Elon considering he got rid off "The Noticing" hashtag that was trending a year ago. (the noticing hashtag that was trending on twitter a year ago was a hash tag of people posting certain truths that jews didnt like in case people dont know)
Mistake to assume elon is personally involved in every aspect of everything. He's running 3 companies has kids and some social life. There are many other people working at twitter who can make decisions.

If Elon is reinstating Fuentes, it means they are doing so to use him to say or do certain things and they plan on use his actions as a casus belli to push certain policies or legislation they planned on pushing.
I've seen this a few times as well and yeah, it's never been answered to my satisfaction.
