The name of the show is Gewoon Bloot, which translates to Simply Naked.

It reminds me of how quickly abortion became normalized after the Roe v Wade decision. Did you know that pre-Roe v Wade, abortion was only legal without extenuating circumstances (threat to mother's life, rape, incest) in five states? Quite the cultural shift after the Supreme Court forced that one through.

I understand that not every nation has the same nudity taboo as the United States. But there is a massive difference between teaching that men and women can have a wide variety of body types vs this idolization of self-harm and surgical mutilation.

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

-George Orwell, 1984

If they can force you to say and believe that a man is a woman, and that a woman is a man, what can't they force you to say and believe?

That is one of the saddest things that I've seen in a while.

My feelings towards Richard Dawkins are complicated, to say the least. As a Christian and as a conservative, I naturally have many points of contention with Dr. Dawkins. I was an atheist for the breadth of my twenties, and I read several of his books. While I disagree with several of his conclusions, particularly regarding God, I have a certain respect for his intellectual integrity. Reading Unweaving the Rainbow makes it abundantly clear that the man truly loves science and the pursuit of truth, even if he has intellectual blindspots that have caused him to miss large parts of it. I also applauded Dawkins' courage in standing against Islam at a time when it was not culturally popular to do so, especially on the Left. Similarly, he spoke out against the insanity of "elevatorgate" and the Atheist+ movement.

So, to see him so cowed is really disconcerting. Some of this is probably threats against his life by Muslim terrorists, but I doubt that this is the first time in his long career. I think Covid did something to him, as it did to many of us. I think that Covid forced him to really consider his own mortality as a physical certainty, rather than as a theoretical truth. Without the belief in something bigger than mere, animal humanity, his resolve crumbled. That intellectual fire and courage, just gone.

They already openly say that they use lotion derived from the foreskins of baby boys to look forever young. It's not much of a stretch.

Good. Let them take full responsibility for this heinous act. Let them expose themselves to every fence-sitting, "it's not a big deal, just be nice," conservative.

Share it. Share it far and wide.

I'm not trying to upset you or get attention.

Then why the fuck couldn't you hang yourself like a normal person?

This is all about upsetting people and getting attention. But all you've done is hurt your insane, demonic cause.

I feel like I need a sanity check. Is that real? Like really, real? Because I just watched that video and it was one of the most surreal moments of my life. This is the President of the United States.

I mean, I'm used to crazy, demented stuff from Joe Biden, but that's on a whole 'nother level.

She's not terribly bright either. It's a drastic difference when you compare Natalie Portman talking about playing Padme Amidala in the Prequels featurettes vs Daisy Ridley talking about playing Rey. Don't forget that this is the woman who said regarding character writing, "I don't really believe in weaknesses in people."

I'd snatch up IPs just to release them into the public domain. Let anyone who wanted to make their own version of the stories or characters. If they're good people will buy them; if they're not they won't. Let people make their own spinoff universes where whatever they want is canon. Turn Star Wars, Star Trek, DC, Marvel, LOTR, etc into the equivalent of Dracula or Sherlock Holmes.

Something that all of this has made me acutely aware of is that we need to grow up as a culture of creators. I don't mean that we should stop loving these cultural touchstones. But we need to stop playing in their creative sandboxes. We need to step out of the shadows of these universes created half a century or more ago. We need to create something new. We need to grow up and create the next Star Wars. We can't just ride on the coattails of more talented men than ourselves. We need to stand on their shoulders and aspire to something even greater.

Memes are by definition digital blackface, because the term "meme" was coined by the African-British scientist, Richard Dawkins.

Just "freezing up" is a common fight-or-flight response for women. It makes sense evolutionarlily, as it probably gave them the best chance of surviving an attack from a male assailant. But it is utterly unsuitable for police work.

Kyle was male and at least partway through puberty though. Like a poster above said, testosterone changes the way the you think and how you approach dangerous situations. In another society, Kyle would have been sent out on the battlefield just by virtue of being a semi-mature male. Any society that sent women, of any age, into battle was exceedingly rare in the past.

You're stilling looking at a difference of thousands of years of evolution.

But Zootopia told me that a bunny could be an effective police officer in a world with anthropomorphic animals as big as elephants. Disney wouldn't just lie to me, would they?

I don't think that the vast majority of rockstars grow up mentally past their late teens/early twenties. They live a lifestyle that allows them to be Peter Pan forever. They can spend their days partying and doing drugs, with a manager to babysit them and handle all the adult decisions.

I still love rock and metal, and have ever since I really got into classic rock in middle school. But that makes me acutely aware as I grow older, people who seemed really smart when I was younger, seem dumber than a sack of bricks as I approach them in age.

It's disgusting. My library always used to skew a little left, but it's like the mask came fully off some point after 2016. I had no idea that so many anti-Trump books existed. Did you know that Stacey Abrams writes fiction novels? My library has them. They also have picture books about Rashida Tlaib, Pete Buttegieg, and other leftist politicians. And of course they have picture books about "gender identity."

The only thing that they haven't done is have a drag queen storytime, but I think it's only a matter of time.

Men have low standards for sex and high standards for relationships. Too many women don't know the difference between the two. If he'll have sex with you, that doesn't mean that he'll get in a relationship with you.
