All the guns that Neo and Trinity spawn in

It's been so long. Was there ever any rule established that would have prevented Neo from spawning in with an arsenal of "phasers set to stun?" All the speed, agility, etc. were based on bending or breaking the rules of the Matrix. But when it comes to arms, they have to stick to familiar firearms?

Even sticking to real-world stuff, a shotgun with a drum mag full of those Taser rounds would be fucking hilarious in a movie.

You're thinking too deeply about it. It's 100% Rule of Cool and a shallow metaphor in the first place.

I can't tell. Might just be a narrow one-way road. UK road design is retarded. If you're curious:

53.380197, -1.470372
18-16 Pinstone St, Sheffield City Centre, Sheffield S1 2HB, UK

Not-fun fact: after this video, that police force paid to give the horses special training to become acclimatized to that kind of road defacement.

For states that have suffered chronic neglect, can we work to transfer leadership to responsible stewards? NY should have lost statehood by now.

The point isn't to have the optimal economic zone. The point is to take the only what is necessary to provide common services to the people paying for them.

"Stagnation" is fine. Companies used to transition from growth to value when they matured. Countries need to learn to do the same. Besides, I don't agree with your premise. The main reason Europe is stagnant is overregulation. They've stamped out innovation, which is where growth should come from and are now trying to "grow" by throwing useless warm bodies at it.

You might be aware of them, but not by name.

The Commodores is Lionel Richie's old band. "Brick House."
C+C Music Factory were the ones who did the one everyone calls "Everybody Dance Now."
Bret Michaels is the lead of Poison. "Every Rose Has It's Thorns."

Lots of people who haven't really been relevant in 30+ years. Martina, I think was early-mid 90s country. Milli Vanilli... I've heard of but only as a target of jokes, even going back to the 80s.

He's got a fair point about locality, but your point about ownership trumps it.

If the people who live in houses that cost 2x more are getting 2x more out of schools, etc. it would be reasonable. The higher costs come with more benefits. The problem arises when it's any higher level of government doing the collecting. State property taxes for example. The people who spent more on their homes get the honor of shoveling money into a furnace for gibs on the other side of the state. That's not reasonable. Even before addressing the question of ownership.

As loathe as I am to say so, the Euros actually figured it out a long time ago with VAT. It doesn't matter how much you make or save. If you don't consume, you don't pay. The more basic the item, the less is paid. And it's constantly visible. Instead of people realizing they're getting nothing for their tax money once a year, they see it constantly and might actually react.

upkeep and server cost should be near zero.

It was F2P. That means it's designed primarily as a vehicle for selling micro-transactions, not as a game experience. Which means for it to "work as intended" they need artists and community/other marketers to keep churning out content and getting people to buy it. If the projections say there aren't enough whales left, it collapses under its own weight.

If they let it keep running at zero revenue, the initial spending on the game is gone, but still considered part of the cost of an ongoing product. If they shut it down and totally shitcan it, they can call the development expenditures a "loss" and write down their taxes.

Are wings really slop? Sure you could make the sauce out of garbage, but otherwise... they're chicken. Not mechanically separated chicken mixed with fillers or anything that industrial. They're literal bone-in chicken. Plus seasoning and heat.

True if you're playing the game with friends. If you're watching other people play them, where the "friends" are a "collab" negotiated by an agency, you're getting none of that. You're getting choreographed chaos to keep you engaged.

That's not the game's fault but it's worth mentioning.

ernsithe 3 points ago +3 / -0

OP may be using it too generically. It's supposed to refer to games made with low-effort, knowing that by forcing you to play with friends, you'll likely still have a positive experience and project it onto the game.

I wouldn't call something like Overcooked friendslop. It leans on friends and the interactions but has polish and deliberate design. "Quirky-task-UE-one-afternoon-effort-physics-set-to-11-lol-so-randum-xD-simulator," would be friendslop.

The dems will "back" anyone who Trump doesn't like. It's their only basis for decision making right now and will probably stay that way until at least 2032. They won't care that he's out of office, they'll keep his opinions front and center in the media. TDS brings in too much viewership to let him go.

Even the gays are getting fatigued of it. It was their thing but became corporate sponsors and straight women virtue signaling. Apparently the whole thing now has the vibe of a school "rave" sponsored by the PTA. Hollow, cringe, sold-out, and only NPCs or those trying to hold onto some nostalgia from when it made them feel edgy or counter-culture decades ago.

I don't know. I bought TSLA pretty early and it's been fantastic (up 4 digit %s) to me. But that's from when it was niche, the only people hyped were techies, Elon wasn't a household name, and wasn't controversial.

SpaceX has done an incredible thing, but everyone and their cousin knows about it. But there's so much potential upside in space tech. Even just in Starlink alone. I don't know. Maybe it will be one of those where the IPO pops, drops to fuck over retail investors, than has huge long-term growth. It's a hard one to guess. But you make a good point about the SP500. Index/ETF will be forced to buy in and hold.

I just hope it does become "the Elon stock" to the detriment of TSLA.

They want to focus on live service games?

Translating from corporate speak, "we don't have the money to do any significant development, but if we don't keep Siege and The Division afloat, we'll have no income at all."

This is obviously irrelevant to America an no mayor should be bothering with shit like it.

But I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy watching the "survivor" label get rightfully diluted in front of them. Nakbacoaster when?

The C+ seems to be an average of:

  • Votes for things that strengthen the laws
  • Votes against things that allocate billions of dollars of taxpayer money

In fact the only negatives I see that don't have a "%" or a "$" in them is that he is "yet to co-sponsor" certain bills.

3
ernsithe 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'd advise against it anyway because most of the "savings" comes from the tokens coming from hacked accounts.

Do those Chinese online retailers not work in the west? Otherwise, OP kind of tells you exactly where you can.

He’s 23 years old and has no advanced mathematics training. What he does have is a ChatGPT Pro subscription, which gives him access to the latest large language models from OpenAI.

This reads like either an ad or the author having a conflict of interest.

Why does the constitution apply to things that happened yesterday?! It's OLD!

Big brain logic there. You can start with the fact that this population of fish wasn't listed as "threatened" until 1999. Then, I'm assuming here, they tried other things before proposing such a drastic course of action. Which resulted in a lawsuit, which is why you only found out about it today. The thing you have to realize is reality exists, is dynamic, and keeps chugging along even when not observed by you.

I say "population" because it's only listed as such in a handful of specific locations. The species itself is not endangered.
