One that comes to mind is Avenue 5. Which is one of the few comedies that actually made me laugh because it was smart and subtle and not laugh track bludgeoned obviousness. Expanse is another one where it was cancelled and then picked up again but the extension 3 seasons didn't come close to the quality of the first 3. And I know it isn't GOOD but I still have a soft spot for Krypton because the actors were working their asses off. Yes I know they made the Zod's black but the guy playing the general was so good at chewing scenery that they are forgiven.

I can think of many more series that died to wokeness poisoning before they were cancelled, sometimes long before and the crappy corpse kept riding along until someone at the network realized they were still paying for it.

Dark Matter, Killjoys had a GREAT start and then went full message by season 3 becoming unwatchable. Pretty much the whole Arrowverse went that way with strong season 1 or 1 and 2 and then here comes the stronk wamen. Netflix Castlevania had a great season 1 and then 2 was all about clowning on the White male characters. The First didn't even make it past season 1 until it became all about women and darkies. Agents of Shield is another one, so was Ozark.

I'm pleasantly surprised exactly how 40k Rogue Trader game ended up being. They really didn't soften the setting at all, at least the dogmatic (also the only correct) alignment path that is.

VR games that are meant to be played while sitting in an office/or gaming chair. This solves the problems flailing around and hitting or stumbling over stuff, it also means you can set up in a much smaller space than VR games that are meant for standing. You still have 360 degrees of rotation, It would be straightforward to calibrate according to comfortable reach length and flexibility.

It would also allow for true accessibility since the games could be equally enjoyed regardless of real life mobility.

Don't think I'm getting anything. My backlog is long: currently sitting on the last 1/3 of pathfinder kingmaker, the last half of rogue trader, wrath of the righteous, shadow of war, mad max, the batman arkham games in my queue.

Path of Exile 2 is calling but I don't feel highly compelled to answer. Maybe if Space Marine 2 drops below 30 but I don't see that happening.

Phoenix Point is scratching my XCOM itch. It feels like a really sincere attempt that needed at least another 6 months of cooking in early access to tune the systems. I read there is an overhaul mod that fixes a lot and integrates the DLC (which appears to make the game worse in its vanilla form). I'm currently playing an unmodded game either to completion or to long enough that I get tired of it, then take a break, then come back and try a fully modded run.

Also planning on getting hades 2 when it leaves early access. I know it is woke but i like the gameplay, might just pirate it though. And slay the spire 2 hits early access next year but will probably wait for release.

And of course in addition to my steam library I have about 400 slop titles on the epic store in addition to all the humble bundle/subscrption titles I never played, then the random stuff that amazon gives away for free.

I'm pretty sure I'm set for gaming until the day I die.

edit: well I might pick up space marine 2 if that drops below 30 because that $20 savings will be my excuse to spend $600 on a new video card and $1500 on a new TV.

I have to confess that I didn't hate the first 3 seasons of Discovery. And thought the first half of Season 1 was actually good. The rest, 1.5 through 3 was still watchable in watching a giant pile of money burn up satisfaction way. Then season 4 had "non-binary" character and its nauseating "boyfriend" featured as major portions of the plot and I could no longer handle it.

Of course I was more tolerant when it came out. Now I would have turned it off and erased it from the Plex server at the first homo scene.

I'm more excited for the korean grind quest version of Horizon because that could actually be fun.

First Descendent is like someone mushed all of the live service looter shooters together and stuffed the mess into a korean soap opera skin.

It does look pretty though, but gameplay wise it is utterly skill-less with everything being a gear check.

I quit when my progression stalled and realized my next marginal upgrade came from a .5% drop on 15 or so minute setup loop. But when I upgrade my video card I'll probably re-install unless something better comes along to exercise the system.
