Okay, but have you ever tasted an authentic doner kebab? You try telling me all this yummy food isn't worth a few minor explosions!

Even the braindead morons in his Reddit sub saw that what he did was a racist humiliation ritual when that happened. The only people defending it were 50 IQ hoteps who act more on instinct and reflex than human thought.

Sure is strange that 30% of college students were women back when females were property and a woman couldn't so much as leave the house without a man's permission, isn't it? Almost like both of those things can't be true at the same time? But which one, I wonder? 🤔🤔🤔🤔

After weeks of hanging out in a gaming chat room, I'd been spotted. My profile picture showed that I was clearly a woman but was otherwise unremarkable. I didn't have time to speak a word before I was called a "dirty fing b*", while someone else asked to "see that py". Another player got involved, calling me a "slag" and a "ne".

So you had this profile picture for weeks, overtly displaying the fact that you're female with no problem, then suddenly all the misogynazis woke up from their stupor simultaneously and started attacking you for no reason at all?

Excuse me if I'm just a tiny bit suspicious of your story.

Edit: I'm not escaping all those asterisks. You get the idea.

I think by "answerable to nobody" he meant "not under the thumb of a publisher or soulless hedge fund". Which is rather optimistic because even relatively large dev studios rarely publish their own stuff due to the logistics and cost, but it could happen.

Almost never. That's why we still remember the name of so many game studios and specific game creators from the 80s and 90s. Putting together a team is an incredibly time consuming, expensive process. It costs far, far more money to hire a new employee than to retain existing employees.

The fact that there are so many fly by night studios who seem to exist entirely to sacrifice themselves for the Greater Good is some super blatant tax evasion shit. Same with "unreleased films". You want me to believe that they spent 100 million dollars creating a movie and simply decided not to release it? Pull the other one.

XCOM 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. I just really hate having a great run destroyed because the enemy pods all sprint directly toward my squad while the game pretends they just coincidentally all happened upon us.

WhoIsThatMaskedMan 9 points ago +9 / -0

You're very wrong about the accuracy thing, but dead on with the pod mechanic. Inactive pods don't behave in a realistic way, and the turn based system means that being spotted by an alien can mean instant ruin if it happens at the end of your turn. The player shouldn't be punished for taking actions in the wrong order if it's not possible to know what the correct order is.

I can't personally think of a way to remedy it without just removing the "entire team goes at once" mechanic, but it's uniquely frustrating to accidentally reveal the wrong tile and basically give the aliens a free turn. Activating a pod should at least give your entire team free overwatch or something.

TOME is probably the classic example. Insane amount of content, but also well done and not designed to just kill you instantly.

For an older example, you could try ADOM. It's pretty hard, often unfairly so, but it's probably the most fun of the "old as shit" roguelike catalogue.

I've also been looking into one called Quasimorph, but I haven't actually played it yet for lack of time.

Has anyone actually played this? When done well, extremely complex roguelikes offer some of the best, most memorable gameplay there is. But so many of them fall into either the "hard equals good" mindset or they'll just toss the player into the deep end and expect them to learn to swim by spending 50 hours reading the wiki. Neither design philosophy is fun at all to me. I'm really hoping this one finally got it just right.

Holy shit, you just revived a memory that's been dead for like 15 years. I used to love gemcraft. I wish it was on Android.

I feel zero sympathy for anyone willing to go to something called "festival of diversity".

To them, there is no double standard because they're The Good Guys and everyone else is The Bad Guys. Is it a double standard when people cheer when the Avengers win and boo when Thanos wins? No, because you're supposed to boo The Bad Guys. It's good vs evil.

She was 55. Not much better, but a far cry from 46 in terms of cancer rates. They really skyrocket in your 50s. The NYT was wrong about her age because journalists aren't good at anything at all, ever.

My local one is always full of tweens playing flash HTML5 games on the computers. Some things never change.

I can't tell you how many people I know who unironically say things like "it's only a matter of time until I'm in a victim of a mass shooting" as they sip 15 dollar coffee from a 1.5 million dollar luxury condo. It's insane how privileged these people are, yet the way they tell it you'd think they lived in an actual war zone.

I mean, it kind of does most of the time. Or at least it's the closest we have. How would you translate it? And don't say "three".

The only one that's a real shame to me is Guinness. No beer compares, I think. Everything else they sell has alternatives that are as good or better.

Yeah, I hear you. The games are always designed to be unplayable without ridiculous grinding after a certain point to encourage you to keep dumping money into them. They basically exist to prey on gambling addicts and children. It's super scummy.

Luckily, there's a solution.

Simply use promo code MaskedMan to receive 100,000 GenshinGold for free along with a week of premium and 100 free pulls! And that's not all! If you join my guild, you and I can become best friends and play the game together forever and ever! Download now!

White people exist in a video game. This is deeply troubling to the anti-racists who just want equal rights. They tried to bully the game developers into white replacement via botting and harassment. Devs have ignored them so far.

I avoid gacha because it's exploitative at best, but I might have to give this one a go just to support the rare company that's willing to tell wokies to fuck off.

I don't disagree. But this is just some random Twitter account, he's probably just trying to be funny. "Niggas for trump" is a funny name.

"White Dudes for Harris" is an actual, unironic thing that the Harris campaign is doing. He's making fun of that.

Even if they are real, why would you want them? Why are they falling in love with a woman who sells herself? Even when I was at my most desperate I would never have even considered a relationship with an actual whore.

The simp mindset is the most alien thing.

Found the original Reddit post. Here's a knee slapper from OP.

The only thing I knew about [India] was the incredibly unique foods. I wanted to explore and try some different cuisines.

NPCs are very real.
