… Iger does not want to sell off the big properties he bought — LucasFilm, Marvel, Pixar, and even Fox, as a whole — because the selling price will be much, much lower than the purchase price. This would expose him as rube who consistently overpaid for other people’ successful studios to cover-up Disney’s own struggling creative output. And it would also confirm everyone’s strong suspicion that all of these properties are worth only 25-50% of what was paid for them, and therefore maybe all of Disney is similarly only worth 25-50% of the current market valuation.
LucasFilm was worth 4 billion for Star Wars alone. It was not overvalued. Disney just beat it with a sledgehammer, and only now is it not worth even half what they paid for it.
They won't have a choice though. 95% of anyone with actual standing in Hollywood went out of their way to demean, insult, and call for the arrest or killing of way too many common people in the country. They are causing their own demise through both their behavior and their lack of talent. You don't get to bail them out after something like that. If that's not a taxpayer red line between peace and civil war, I don't know what is.
Yeah, Babylon 5 is an oldie, but I'm only just getting around to watching it. Damn, things really ramped up in Season 3. I can only imagine what would be going through the creators' minds, as they probably tried to imagine this as "the inevitable path of the Republicans," while we've been closer than ever to the entire Earthdome corruption scenario in the past few years.
They TRIED to do that to him. He said, "Okay, then I'm leaving with this bonus," they said "hell no," so he finally said "no, YOU are fired." However, at that point, his company was already partnered with another for its continued production, so everyone left and those that were able to signed on with said partner company (that did apparently have the rights to the game).
They're never going to make California red. The only chance they'll have is if states start splitting because of clear evidence that the governing body is legislating benefit to the mega-urban cities and harm to the rural communities.
I have no problem with the CRA. I have a problem with hypocrisy. If the CRA is what allows the hypocrisy, then yeah, repeal it.
