Indeed. I can see that Elon Musk (by intent or not) has seemingly scared some people off the platform merely by putting orange man and gay frogs man back on it, so there is a chance that he is shaping elections (or at least that which shapes elections itself).

I can't be too certain, though, like anything else that's happened with wokeness.

Good point, actually - and I think all 3 of the channels my other post mentioned have come under scrutiny (and even legal action in some cases) that might not have happened had they had careers in more industrialized entertainment.

I would definitely agree, especially knowing how abusive the Kpop industry is too. I don't know if you were explicitly saying that them being involved in a youtube channel is less likely to hurt them, with my knowledge of the number of disastrous ""family"" channels like DaddyOFive, the Royalty Family and 8passengers

If there is one thing I feel that has been objectively fun to watch about the Israel vs Hamas fight, it's that it's managed to tear apart the left. The Russia-Ukraine war had things so that you couldn't ever say anything bad about Ukraine or support Russia at all, even if it's a smart idea to, but here it's tearing them apart.

I do agree that there's probably a lot of horror artists that wouldn't really like scored.'s co. that much, especially since tumblrites seem to be everywhere after that site killed itself. But I can still talk about ones that seem to be mostly free of the nonsense.

Lost in the Hyperverse probably is my favorite backrooms series, despite (or even due to) the liberties it takes with the lore.

I'd definitely recommend watching LOCAL58, Surreal Broadcast and Gemini Home Entertainment, assuming you are good with that type of video (I'm guessing you are not, though). I might recommend Analog Archives and it's successor Eventide Media Center, though I did hear the latter series ended rather messily due to the last video using a school shooting story as a cover for a paranormal event.

If they destroy each other like I want the actors union and hollywood to do to each other, I think the results will be good.

Yeah. Another Thing I remember a while back was people condescendingly chanting about comparisons to 1984 as a catch all way of shutting down criticism a la "It's the Current Year"

I agree. Pretty crazy this guy went from a Radfem to outspokenly Anti-Biden and Anti-Trans.

I also think I heard a while back that EA was looking for a buyer, but they were having difficulty finding one. It would be poetic justice if Disney ends up shutting down EA like they did to so many other companies before them.

I agree. I miss those days. Is it possible to get PCs made using Legacy OSs? I would pay for one.

Short films sound like fun! As pie in the sky as it is, I actually want to try making a movie myself in a game engine like UE5.

Yeah. I feel the same about Ron Desantis and Trump to some extent - they do bad shit at times, but they've done good shit as well.

Elon, if there's one thing I am glad for him about, it seeing him at least cause some actual damage to the woke mob, hampering twitter's influence to the point where I don't need to make an account or dropping shitposts to make my day a little brighter, even if it's unintentional due to his WEF ties. Not that this spares him from criticism (I feel he likes NFTs a bit too much) like the other two, but at least it's good to see something good come.

I'm half wondering how loud the screeches would be if we did the opposite of the "Herman Cain Award".

MrHeretic 12 points ago +12 / -0

I agree, it does suck. I keep feeling like things that look like easy wins for us keep turning out to be otherwise.

I think it may have had to do with the relatively recent ruling that AI work cannot be copyrighted. That probably kept them their place.

Does this include crypto? It seems to me like it would - I think that it seems like now is the time for major companies to make microtransactions more appealing via it.

If there's enough of a backlash against Starfield (Say, the amount that cyberpunk 2077 got), I think it might also pay into dragging down TES6 - I wouldn't be surprised if this game fails to make a franchise as it's a new IP and I still remember that there was already a lot of people who were pushed away when it was heard that they were using the buggy old creation engine rather than getting a new one, on top of the announcement being right on the heels of 76.

Me personally, this just isn't my kind of game at all. I think it will be another release that I find more joy in talking about than actually playing. Maybe if TES6 builds the same modding community skyrim did, I could give it a shake, but right now Bethesda's reputation precedes that.

I still remember how suspiciously timed the ending of the restrictions in the UK were, given they were around the time of partygate. If they tried to defend themselves by saying "You're pulling a Tu quoe/Whataboutism!" they'd have been digging themselves deeper.

If they get caught doing it again, I think the pattern will be the same. Enough public coverage will unravel the entire thing.

MrHeretic 6 points ago +6 / -0

Ah, that's interesting.

Me personally, I am just glad that this shit is at least on track to bomb. I was (and to an extent still am) kinda worried that this is going to succeed, especially after seeing Velma getting a second season for the same reasons TTG lasted as long as it did. I just don't think I can guarantee any successes for us in this endless mess.

MrHeretic 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah, you're right. I do see the odd right winger who unironically likes modern China every now and then (Vox Day being a notable example) for reasons like that, but I think there's lots of good reasons why we don't like them.

Disney seems just to be making this movie for the American woke audience first and foremost, as a possible explanation, so I don't know if they are relying on the Asian market for this to make it big or not. I don't know if the backlash will carry it to box office success or not just yet like how Velma got a second season, but let's keep our heads low about it and pray it flops.

I will take any responsibility if this was a bad source to pick up on (I have an odd feeling I'm going to get downvotes for it), but I saw this on boundingintocomics.com and thought I might share it here, since I feel it shows just how much goodwill disney is blowing with the chinese market they are pining for, like Blizzard before them.

MrHeretic 2 points ago +2 / -0

If they do succumb to WOTC, then I think they will blow all of the goodwill they have made by providing the number one alternative to 5E, now that I think about it.

MrHeretic 6 points ago +6 / -0

I wonder how much of this is driven by Pathfinder 2E doing better than them? I mean, I did hear the news about Paizo adding a bio-essentialism errata like Tasha's Cauldron of Everything did, but I can just tell anyone who wants that errata used to go screw themselves, hopefully enough.

Speaking of, is Paizo going to get caught in this mess if this goes ahead?

Honestly, I think wokeness in companies is frequently comorbid with scummy business practices like this one, now that I think about it.

Popups. Popups Everywhere. I still have some memories of the days when popups were along the lines of "Congratulations, you won!" and with adblock it seems like a long time ago.

I also remember talking to a guy on the chat protocol Matrix (It's a great one, I must add!) and he made his hatred of Javascript pretty clear to me.

And it didn't work out that well for them, judging by the fact that because of the stink they made, Reedy Creek has a year left before it's dissolution.

It would be amazing to witness the fall of Disney if it happens soon.

Yeah. I think he did go to a jail for men, though. And he is probably sterile too, so I don't think that calling it "The Chris-Chan Method" would be accurate.
