There'd be less interactions: The cops would never leave the station, not even for calls, for fear of seeing someone in need of help.

"So you have a financial motive in the result of this trial?"

"Yes, I have a half-million dollar contract."

That exchange alone should have sent him packing from the stand.

If you have an environment that fosters weak but active action, such as voting or boycotts, low involvement activities that are easily performed but have strong impact in large numbers, then it can be VERY valuable for the side being against that thing to make the environment as toxic as possible.

If I said "remember to go vote, and IMO, Trump's a good option" on election day, and it is heard by 3 people who forgot to vote and go out and do it, well, that benefits Trump mildly. If I say it and instead am heard by 300,000 people who forgot to vote and go out and do it, well, that swings an election. And the difference isn't my message or how convincing I am, it is how many people are still there, are around and reading, while a bunch of glowies push pro-pedo-propaganda for Biden for months on end.

I think you two and Imp need to get together and get chicken-and-egg philosophical. Are they Jews because they're matriarchal, or are they matriarchal because they're Jews? If it's the "only" group in either perspective, then this is a valid philosophical quandary.

There's peaks and troughs. No "absolute" peak, but locals ones for sure.

There is more evidence of Rance from RanceQuest being in Japan as Nobunaga's samurai, than there is of Yasuke.

That's a nice argument, senator. Care to back it up with a source?

They've got stable "pretty solid" PS3 emulation going now? Any suggestions as to an emulator?

If I am elected mod, I shall hold weekly votes on who to ban! We shall string up the five most downvoted posters and all handshakes that week into the public square, and if any get a supermajority ban vote of commenting non-handshake posters, b&!

The Fate Franchise treats mythology and history better than Disney does. And that's saying something.

4
Kweebecker 4 points ago +4 / -0

A rising tide raises all boats, but a tidal wave will capsize them. But unlike GameStop, Disney really is too big. Even if you got buy-in from the dragons or Musk or whatnot (like GameStop eventually did) to make it worse/better, it was only hundreds of millions needed, not tens of billions.

Disney will collapse on its own, under its own weight, and through the choking yoke of Vanguard. No action needed. Wouldn't short it, though. It really is too big, any real tumble and those in the shadows will "correct" it.

Chance? Yes.

"The possibility of a miracle, though infinitesimally small, is not exactly zero."

People say "Teflon Don" for Trump because nothing sticks to him, but Trudeau dances out in blackface slurring mocking accents, then follows it up with a big ol' group salute for nazis, and actually means and endorses both these actions, and everyone just goes "oh, but he's more attractive than the competition physically, so, gotta vote for him!". He waxes poetic about how he admires the concept of dictatorship, and how China is admirable in how it treats its citizens. Beyond just socially, he literally earmarked money for a good friend into the federal budget simply because his good friend gave him a cool Christmas present. And admitted to it. He got a Conflict of Interest court ruling against him over it, wrists were slapped. And then he did it again shortly afterwards! And people just... ignore it.

Fitting that props are used in a show trial.

If I'm in the woods, I'd prefer to encounter the bear, over facing a strange, unattractive, and unknown woman. Whether you kill, flee, or cross on amicable terms with the bear, you're in the clear later, but there is no action you can do to be safe with the latter. Just the knowledge that you were in the woods at the same time, even if you never get within sight range, you're at serious risk forever after if she winds up feeling the need for some pointless facebook likes.

We currently have very good bread despite the best efforts of some to include more dead bugs in it, and while the circuses suck, they're at least omnipresent.

You can still drop 10 mil on a game and make a SIGNIFICANT improvement.

The problem isn't the present value or money, or the concept of diminishing returns, it's WHAT they're spending the money on.

Four million to GaymerX consultations with a million sidebarred for Sweet Baby Inc., and five million more to have Treehouse localize the game into English, you've dropped 10 mil, but each of those decisions will REDUCE your overall sales, not increase them, not even keep them static. Put down 2 mil on an HR push for inclusion in the workplace, and you're down 4 mil in net profit. Put that same 2 mil into actual game devs, or artists, or the HR screening the artists for those who actually match the "vision" of making a game that sells rather than one that is approved by committee, or into the voice acting, or the music...

Hell, put that 10 mil into a perpetuity annuity that pays out 1 million dollars in tournament prize money per year (through university education grants, so it's also a charitable donation), and it would be a FAR better way to spend the money than what AAA companies are doing presently. At least that would be cash-neutral marketing with a double-dip in tax deductions, rather than pissing away sales by trying to appease the rainbow mafia.

The story of Marvel's Midnight Suns. It's an okay game, had several million in sales... But cost ten times what it earned. In pure revenues, any game with those numbers would be a success, but it needed to sell more than there are gamers in the world, in order to turn a profit.

The only true male privilege left is the knowledge, internal and external, that you have no inherent value, and therefore, any value you attain was a result of your own efforts. You will never need second-guess yourself, ask yourself "did I deserve this?", because no matter what it is, good or bad, you brought it about with your own will. No social networks or governmental offices or court powers designed specifically to making your life easier or your achievements given to you on a platter... At least in regards to your chromosomes.

Wolf-dog girls are fine, too. You can selectively breed them for loyalty, ferocity, and size, and get some stellar results. By putting in hard work and effort into the thing you love, you can make it better.

The lawyer don't care. The judge don't care. They get paid anyways, and if it interferes with THEIR vacations, the case'll be put on hold.

The thing they don't get with slang, is (as they love to mention) language evolves.

"Wow chud" will seem just as dated and ass-backwards-sounding as "gee wilikers" down the timeline. The language that doesn't evolve much, that has reached a plateau in its evolution, is far superior for any work that you intend to have any lasting impact at all in its original spirit and intention.

Of course, these localizers AIM to have the work ruined and destroyed, so of course they put #CurrentYear soon-to-be-anachronisms into it. They actively hate the medium, the product, the company, the audience, all they do is hate.

The last one is just ridiculous. There is no tone of voice, no setting, no time era, in which someone creeping through a woman's washroom saying "come on out if you're feeling unsafe, I promise, I'm safe..." is NOT a massive red flag.

Even if Abu wasn't an SBI insider, the statement stands. SBI Detected.

Kabrutus simply alerted people to the game's release date, reminding people it existed, and that it is noted on Steam curator pages. In other words, he did game journalism!
