Inb4 someone redubs all of donkey Kong's lines with clips from that show.

Everyone talks about the Leftist -> Troon pipeline, but equally important is the Troon -> complete waste of space pipeline. These parents are taking important steps in avoiding their child radicalizing into a subhuman meatball.

Reminds me of the cursed NES collection. A church was selling a collection of a large number of NES games, including very rare ones, most of them still new in box. The previous owner didn't know anything about video games, so he just got all of them to ensure he'd have the ones that the kids were talking about, and would like to come over to his house to play.

You can infer the rest.

It's even more likely the barrier between how Westerners and Japanese use and interpret apologies. It's more likely this is the sort of apology that has the same meaning as thanking the clerk at the convenience store. It's just something you do.

Right now the singularity AI I'm concerned about is more like an omnipotent version of C3P0

Eltrion 15 points ago +15 / -0

Yes. I'm sure Microsoft has enough people from the old days who see where AI is heading and know that now is the time to move fast and damn the consequences. The potential rewards are too great, and any " Ethical concerns" are far more risky as someone could beat them to the punch and eat their slice of the AI pie.

To resolve this dispute, I propose a tournament where NYT journalists and twitter trannies fight to the death.

Not really surprising. He's old enough that I was surprised when someone mentioned that he was still alive back when the Queen died.

Before my time anyway, so I don't really have strong feelings one way or the other.

Yes! I'm so hyped for the Aliens arc of the deep state propaganda. Finally something that might make the horrific authoritarian measures entertaining.

Any takers on "Mandatory Alien Culture Classes" where we have to learn about their 16 gender roles, and economic system that bears surprising resemblance to socialism?

When he was in the campaign trail, I thought to myself, "He's functioning at about the same level as grandma." Now grandma, at that point was in a retirement home due to her Alzheimer's, but the thing was, you wouldn't notice it at first. Grandma, like Joe, was always creative and good at speaking, and could make something up with enough coherence to hide the fact that she couldn't follow the conversation or remember the events in question. This, combined with her natural disposition as a dottery old lady allowed her to hide her condition for quite a while, and portray a better state of health than the truth of reality. I wouldn't be surprised if the truth of the situation with Joe is much the same, and what we don't see is far worse.

Grandma died last month. She was 91.

I don't know, her sheer strangeness, and "sense of humour" already elevates her above a significant chunk of boring white bread streamers with cut and paste personalities.

I wouldn't say she's a great streamer, but she's at least middling, has a unique hook, and has managed to remain endearing. That, combined with her ability to work every day without breaks, and the impossibility of irl drama torpedoing her popularity, I wouldn't be surprised if that's enough to carry her for a significant length of time, provided she isn't banned for stumbling too close to forbidden topics again.

I've been getting recommended clips from her for a while now. Most of the entertainment value is in watching her fumble regular human interaction in a way that is just coherent enough to keep the idea that she's understanding what's going on but doesn't, get how a human is supposed to feel about it.

There's a very real possibility that it would get less interesting if she got smarter.

Couldn't have just given him pants, huh?

I'm not really opposed to the concept of magical boys, but I think they should look more "princely" or something. If they had given him pants and combined the mini jacket and skirt into a fancy coat thing, the design would be far more masculine, but still fitting the cure theme. The Ponytail and earrings are a bit much, but forgivable.

The real test will be how he's used in the show. Often this type of character will be used in a slightly comedic fashion by having a female character design act like a hormonal teenage boy or otherwise try to become more masculine, or be totally confused by the fact that everyone thinks they are a girl when they are so obviously a boy.

Or we could get the whole true girl's heart nonsense.

Or we could get none of that and just have a dude who helps his friends and doesn't care that the magical transformation is feminine looking because it helps him punch bad guys.

Really hard to tell with japan these days.

Outside chance, we might get a based line like "It doesn't matter if my clothes and appearance changes, I'm still a boy!"

Try a different model. Models are improving all the time, so grab something newer. Also use a model specially trained for realism. A mixed model produces less consistent results, which can be very unsettling in a realistic style.

Change up your prompt, include details about the features, that your chosen model tends to get lazy with. Even something as simple as "nice skin" can go a long way in making her less plastic looking.

Red and yellow originally had a good, "Mean guy, Dumb guy / boke tsukkome" dynamic that is seen in various comic relief duos in many types of media. Unfortunately, it doesn't work anymore because in left wing influenced media, having a character be mean without either the character being openly evil, or a minority dressing down a white man, is a big no no. So they made red less mean, yellow less dumb, and added a bunch of side characters, and none of them have much in the way of personality.

Seconding this. Jellyfin is harder to set up, but worth the investment of learning to avoid Plex pushing it's ecosystem on you, and having greater control over the behaviour of servers that you own and should have the right to do whatever you want with.

UK speech laws are far worse than Canada's. Both UK and Australian gun laws are far worse than Canada's. Australia was far more draconian than Canada on covid.

The government control over the population is also very thin outside of major cities.

The euthanasia and trucker crackdowns were pretty bad admittedly, but I'm not sure it's as bad as Great Britain's ubiquitous thought police, or Australia's borderline police state.

Have you seen Australia, New Zealand and the UK? Not that Canadaian government and cities aren't woke as fuck, but at least most if it is rural enough to prevent the government from micromanaging the whole thing and cold enough to keep the flow of undesirables at a still to high, but not UK level.

Let's face it the whole of the commonwealth is getting pretty awful and I think it will take some careful consideration before awarding the title of "most cucked" to any of them. It's a fierce competition.

Military was only one of the services possible. The book is set during war time though, so military is the one focused on.

The idea of the service is to set the requirements near the upper end of what someone was capable of to make everyone technically able to achieve citizenship, but most give up.

I think it's mentioned that a blind cripple might be able to get citizenship just by insisting hard enough if the government couldn't find something they were capable of.

This was a "trans" tournament. So it was women pretending to be manlets. Contrary to leftist belief, your anatomy can't be overwritten with drugs. These """""men""""" are learning that the hard way.
