I think the former USSR states still hold a special enmity for the Nazis due to the betrayal and invasion of Russia in WWII, and subsequent brutal fighting that took place.
You can see this in the movie "The Best in Hell" which is a Russian war movie set in the Ukraine war. One of the Russians, is fighting to the death with a Ukrainian in close quarters, he says "My grandfather didn't take Berlin so I could surrender to you." The Ukrainian starts loosing the struggle. He manages to say "my grandfather took Berlin too", shortly before being stabbed and killed. ..man that movie was so tragic.

If you read the Wikipedia current events, every fucking week there's a headline like "14 people were killed by lightning strikes durring a storm and heavy rain across bangladesh"

Funny but not really true. Its not even in the same realm of difficulty. Granted its fucking insane that the guy who nicked trumps ear was able to get such an easy shot. But even that was several hundred meters AND he was shot and killed within a few seconds of opening fire.
All these are true but it can still be real. Well maybe not the "crisis" part. But the part where all our Co2 emissions are changing the climate. I mean, look around you. Look how many humans and houses and industrial sites there are. The whole earth looks like this. Do you really think it has no effect?
Of course it's also true that we are the carbon the rich wants to reduce.
I think the screenshot is accurate to the book fyi. There is a black astronaut and he does start fucking a white woman astronaut. ..but honestly its a pretty small part of the book. Its legitimately not a political book or corrupted by dei. Weir is however not a "based" author and his world view is slightly skewed from living in these woke times.
I rolled my eyes at the whole black astronaut thing honestly. Weir did that thing were hes some kind of savant genius but oh yeah hes black. I don't know why boomers love doing this.
I'm serious its still a great book and there's no blacks in 90% of it.
I agree on all counts, but exploring map, discovering everything and building a base was still pretty fun imo. The snowfox sucks to drive but you can just use the prawn suit to traverse that area easily.
It's significantly worse than the original in every way, but it does have a totally new world, with mostly new creatures and biomes. I enjoyed that part.
That can be a good way to handle it depending on the context honestly. Fighting with women is pointless. If she's worth the effort at all, maybe just assume it's her time of the month and try a different day.

I havent seen the show, but that sounds semi-realistic. Women who arent on birth control have mood swings like the tide every month. So imo its totally normal even for a woman whos wife material to be a cunt sometimes. Thats just how women are.
