It's actually a good movie outside of its political narrative. A few slow parts and a little peachy but the actions scenes I liked because it lacked the Hollywood "everyone stand and have a conversation before shooting" bs I hate in movies.

I suggest watching Law Abiding Citizen. It's this movie without the stink of Uwe Boll around it.
Yeah, that one is actually a good movie. Could've been great if they didn't chicken out with the ending.
Butler actually tells the story of how the studio was surprised to see test audiences upset with the ending. Jamie Foxx was also upset because it was "his" movie and audiences liked Butler more and thought Foxx should have died.
Hollywood hasn't understood America for a long, long time.
I heard Foxx threw a hissy fit and that's why we got that stupid ending. Although I don't know if it is actually true.
Problem with LAC is the ending already happened earlier in the film. Butler's character tells the feds the right move was to say no to the terrorism threats/demands. But they already did that at the very start then capitulated when the first bombing happened. It's lazy it just takes the rest of the movie to get back to square one.
A better ending would also have been Jamie Foxx walking into his cell and shooting him.

The retarded shootout scene with the police that was completely unnecessary from a story standpoint?

Yes, actually I loved the sex scene with the hooker. Reminded me a lot like myself. I thought it was a great scene showing how good people might fuck hookers, and this idea of "Christian Nationalism" with perfect morals is worthless because the good guys are doing "bad things". The hooker was well acted and handled the situation in the best way possible for a hooker. Him caring more about the damage to his building than the sex showed how desensitized he was overall and where his priorities were (which was a good thing). Just getting his rocks off but not sexually obsessed like a like of weirdos are. Giving her a little extra and not being an asshole or demanding more because he owns the building showed his good character. I thought it was one of the better scenes of the movie and even the girl I was watching the movie with agreed. She thought the girl was super cute.
The absentee father part was a great parallel for the problems many millennials face with their boomer parents who are absent from fixing society too (and have been part of the reason society is crumbling).
The shootout with the police was just supposed to depict police dying en masse which is what needs to happen to fix society. The police must be scared of the citizens not the other way around. That whole scene was meant to make police cringe and citizens see them as nothing but ragdolls to be disposed of.

It's VERY basic, from the effects, script and dialogue outside the main character. The disjointed timeline also doesn't help.
It's most important factor IS it's political message from the beginning sentence and the ending statement. It does need a better director but a lot of those don't have the balls Uwe Boll has.
I mean, it's better than 95% of anything Netflix puts out. It's not the best movie of all time obviously.

He talks for 5 minutes to a judge that's barely conscious, talk about mold to a hooker, the same TV-tape part is repeated like 3 or 4 times, and it does the "Look, I'm so smart, I do the story out of order so you have to piece stuff together on your own, it's deep and complex"
Meanwhile, all the bad guys are still white men, no female gets any repercussion for their wrong behaviour while the boys get their wrists destroyed. Uwe Boll has profited off video games for decades, and abused the German system to spend millions (of tax-payers money) to make his movies. He's an incredibly fitting definition of grifter and system abuser, so him criticising the justice system is ironic. Maybe he truly cares about the white replacement and out of control immigration, but for now, I'll assume he's doing what he always did: Use the latest trend to make profits out of this, while being as controversial as possible.
It's also similar to Space Marine 2 in the sense that it's something targeted towards heterosexual, non mentally ill normal men, which we get so little of that it's guaranteed to get an outsized positive reaction.

It's a very bad movie with two good scenes that should have been in a better movie. The premise is great but very badly executed.
