This happens to every goofy indie game-of-the-moment that has kitschy writers from major gaming sites creating a circle jerk around it. They write crap about being totally obsessed with it, how it's the best game of the year, it's such a breath of fresh air, then people buy it and it turns out it actually has flaws, or it's not even out of early access and the devs make a decision to tweak a mechanic. The community gets all butthurt over it and half the gullible hipsters who bought it feel like they were lied to, or that it made liars out of their favorite game urinalists.
There was a red light camera at a busy intersection in a neighboring town that is home to a large college campus. The thing lasted maybe a year before they had to remove it. The thing was rarely accurate and every infraction it tagged had to be reviewed by a local cop, and most tags were inaccurate.
The bigger problem was that since people knew it was there and were terrified of it, there was constant brake mashing and stopping short of the intersection, which caused way more accidents than it saved. Even at the best times, traffic was constantly backed up not only at that light, but any other light at a road that could be used to circumvent the fucking camera.
They're barely arresting anyone as it is. The Bay Bridge was completely occupied by a Mad Max raider gang the other night and they only arrested seven out of about a hundred. When given more freedom, these groups don't back off, they go full African warlord.

As I'm playing it, I find myself constantly at odds with Hugh's attitude and mood. He just watched his whole team die and spends the whole game giggling and playing with a little girl like nothing happened. She's not helping him through trauma, she's just helping him fight.
As far as kids go, she's great. She doesn't nag, complain, or whine. She's always upbeat and optimistic. She's grateful and happy for everything she gets. She's helpful and doesn't get in the way. It's easy to find a little kid endearing when they're flawless.
I just feel like the game goes out of its way to ignore the situation on the Cradle. There are zero traces of the crew. No blood, no bodies, not even coffee cups or half eaten snacks laying around. I'm not saying the game needs to be Dead Space (Dad Space) but a few reminders of what's at stake wouldn't go amiss.
