Well there's "swearing", but it's bleeped out for comedic effect, and it got an honest chuckle from me when I watched it. There are a few scenes that are rather intense for a kids movie, but nothing super edgy or really out of place.

I feel like it's "current day" in terms of style and maybe a bit of the humor, but not really in terms of themes or messaging.

I saw it described as "Logan for kids" and the more I think about it, the more I think that's a great description. Not much in the way of wokeness from what I remember. My kids enjoyed it, as did my wife and I. Any "girl boss" stuff is kept to a minimum and, honestly, is kind of portrayed as negative. I'd recommend it.

Maybe, but it's obvious we've only seen two or three parts of the movie from the trailers (Mario coming to the Mushroom Kingdom, the Rainbow Road chase sequence, and Luigi's interrogation/capture) so who knows how the movie will actually turn out? I'm waiting for spoilers before I determine whether I'm going to take my kids to see it.

Well it seems to be an origin movie so this gets a bit of a pass. Not many characters in the Mario franchise to teach a newly introduced Mario how to do things.

Some things are incorruptible by their very nature...woodworking, resin casting, writing, hunting, photography, etc.

Used to watch from around the time WCW ended to about the time Undertaker started his biker schtick.

I'm enjoying it, aside from some aiming issues. Just beat del Lago.

I remember whenever I was in school, the rallying cry from the left was that parents didn't want to teach their kids about sex and STDs and things like that, so that's why schools needed to step up and do it. It's crazy to see that we've gone from "parents don't want to teach it" to "parents shouldn't teach it."

Wendigoon has a great video about Waco as well.

There's a surprising amount of black culture in the US that was carried over from Ireland, Scotland, and Britain.

Because a stylistic change isn't the same thing as a lazy race swap.

Woke is political correctness for political correctness' sake.

I guess you might say...this is the Silent Hill he should be ready to die on?

Hell, normalcy is their kryptonite. An average, or even slightly below average, woman who is happily married and loves her family would trigger most far leftists just because.

My 9 year old and 12 year old are apparently smarter than most people twice their age. I asked them about their thoughts regarding the lockdowns, they both said it was stupid and bad and that people should make their own choices.

How effective would it be if gun shops banded together and all just stopped accepting Discover?

This is what men have become due to the metric ton of bullshit being shoveled onto them. Being told that their very drives and desires are toxic, having traditionally masculine spaces invaded and destroyed, being simultaneously told that expressing emotion is good yet being mocked when they do so, being attacked and ruined for being nice and interacting with people...it's confusing and rough being a guy these days. This is the natural outcome of all of this shit.

If it's actually safe and effective, feminists won't allow it to get traction, since doing so would take power out of the sex and parenthood conversation.
