I think there's a level of nostalgia as well. SA was once great, and they were alive for that. It's hard to admit how badly it's gotten, and they can relive that life without too much worry even today.

Naivety is a common problem for the upper class.

It's white of a certain class. I have friends in SA who seem to be doing fine and think the people talking about this are racist. They are a bit older, have held a position long enough to use a network to get jobs, and have money set aside for life. Some of them are retired and moved to the coast.

I saw something similar in the PNW. The jobs rate is dwindling if you aren't in the empires. I once walked down a street and applied to every shop I saw. No one called me back or hired me. This got way worse after 2008 when they entered the depression under Bush and Obama. Places like Spokane are running on fumes since all the jobs are disappearing for the lower class, while the upper class are just fine.

Comcast is way bigger than just an ISP. It owns NBC and Universal along with the parks that go with them. So the big competition to Disney wants to get into gaming. The new attractions are more escape room style experiences with Jurassic Park or the Minions as a cover.

Yay, another game I want but will just be added to a large pile to be played.

It will open big and then fail in the next weeks. guardians of the Galaxy 3 hasn't cleared $300 Million last I checked.

I did not. My list is similar except I had a z8 Spectrum and a Macintosh along with the Atari.

Voltron is awesome.

Check on who runs it. There are massive companies that own some of the big names. E3 and PAX are owned by the same company. It's actually the same company that owns the term ComicCon.

It's been my experience that women will do cosplay more than guys. Also, it doesn't matter what the character is, there is a sexy cosplay version of it.

I used to run the arcades at all the conventions in the PNW. It's a lot of fun.

The cooler part is the stuff happening outside of the convention. Mini conventions and press screenings happen at the hotels nearby.

Yeah, the question actually asked was, 'how old are you?'

I highly doubt anyone in their 20's here would remember Voltron as their intro.

I remember right after 9/11 and for several years after we had Safety show up in the weirdest ways. To this day there are safety checks at every big theme park, airport, or event.

That's kind of a problem with the shootings everyone imagines. Gang violence happens enough that it can be followed, traced, and figured out. The surprising part is how much of it matches the training for knights and warriors in the medieval period. The reason why is the warriors are the same age.

Rioters can be figured out as well. The riots of 2020 had people that were pulling the strings, paying for propaganda, and specifically leadership to move the riots in the directions they wanted. The fact that Seattle had city council members leading mobs to each others houses was a tell tale sign of what was happening. They also had themed days and other tricks that turned it into a weird summer camp vibe.

Most violence on or by crowds can be traced to the two above, even if it was a lone person.

People specifically trying to kill mass groups is way more difficult. We harp on patterns but more than half the people don't have that mental disease, opinion, way of life, or anything promoted in both academia and the media. As far as anyone can tell the shooters did it on a weird idea that nobody really stopped. The only real increase that connects is population growth. It just seems like the ability to fall through the cracks is something like one in 5 million, which makes it an absolute guessing game on what will happen next. Any attempts to control it will make 5 million people suffer more for the off chance that the shooter will actually come full swing. The fact that age, status, mental health, or anything else doesn't match up means it is an absolute crap shoot trying to understand it.

You just described the arts scene in most areas. Heck, I could point out engineering and science departments that get this same treatment.

That's one of the problems with acting and various arts, you still need puff in your life to do your job well. How do you mix it correctly? That's why so many lefties fall for Socialists ideas, the politics sound adult enough to hide in.

The problem with any of that is finding the right group, and making the props needed. I can make a few weapons and a shield for $10, but then it takes time to build.

Suddenly I see a Disney lawyer demanding the fish girl be a red head so they don't get sued for stealing this story.

When I was a Cub scout leader, I taught them how to make safe forts, and pad their sticks. They loved me for that.

No, they brought it up from infancy. The Target never knew it's real father, just the ho bags that slapped it every time they wanted something from it.

Yes, it's a typo.

The problem with childhood and adulthood is you have to pay for your hobbies. That's never as easy
