Even if you ignore all the woke changes (and removing an entire scoring system ranks very high on that among all the utter ludicrous stuff), its a completely unnecessary game to the highest extent.
This isn't Resident Evil Remakes where its almost a new game being built, its a game that is currently buyable and playable already on Steam with a bunch of minor fixes and changes being sold for full price. Its hard to even say its pure QoL updates as a lot of it makes the game so much easier that it ruins the entire feel of it. The only outright positive it has going is that RE Engine is so easy to mod that the mods for this version will be 20x more complex and easy to work with, which isn't a reason to ever pay for it.
The entire thing seems to be them trying to revitalize a dead IP, but they didn't put in enough effort to make it worthwhile to actually buy. The wokeness of it, while very valid and important to call out, is just one tree in the forest of this failure.

Though I feel like if it gets overused it might go the way of Netflix, where the "account sharing" got so bad they started limiting it to just a household. Valve isn't nearly as bad off or greedy as that, but that almost feels too good to last.
Its a wonderful thing though, because it opens my hundreds of games in my library to my children without having to let them use my own computer or deal with multi-PC account access. They can go off and play Sonic Adventure 2 happily.

Problem is working people are increasingly just not having Cable at all, due to both the price of it, the increasing work hours, and the flexibility streaming offers over it.
They can just throw on their favorite cartoon from their childhood, or mindless nonsense like Family Guy at any time they go to bed and get it for 10% of the cost of a cable package to watch Late Night Shows on. And even if those go on Streaming, its still a far bigger uphill battle to compete against nearly every show in existence versus "the literal nothing on of Late Night time slots."
I actively love Ghost of Tsushima, and I'll probably be stuck here defending it from people who scream woke at shadows trying to rewrite its existence for the next 7 months, but literally nothing about this game is appealing to me in the slightest and now they are actively nega-hyping it for me.

Also the Mongols get sufficiently brutal in the late game after you teach them how to use poisons and show yourself to still be an actual threat, rather than a broken nation they've already conquered and they don't need to beat down actively.
With the exception of the Archer Girl sidequest, which is legitimately mind boggling how it made it in, I don't even remember much wokeness in the side stuff.
But so far I've seen no defense of Yotei. Tsushima never got popular enough to get heavy discussion in the mainstream, and so far the only talk about Yotei I've seen is people ragging on the FeMC.

Anime/manga prove this wrong yearly for you. Most male characters in romcoms/SoL shows are submissive to a point where its a meme and yet people remember them. Gojo from Dress Up Darling earlier this year is a walking sub in every sense and he is a literal Gary Stu for the author to fawn over with her self insert. Shinji Ikari is the walking poster child for submissive character traits, and his weak nature is what drives the entire plot. Heck his lack of desire to take any agency is a constant conflict.
