These emails paint a picture of a Twitter corporation at war with itself, much less conservatives.

The Biden laptop affair was the result of a spinal-reflex-protect-the-DNC call from people in Trust and Safety, with Vijaya Gadde going to bat for them after the fact - and never once bothering Jack with the fact that Twitter had stumbled into becoming a fully-paid-up propaganda arm of the DNC.

I mean, given Gadde's personal history that probably wasn't much of a step for her, but it was something of an over-reach for her to commit the entire resource of Twitter to pursuing her own political preferences.

Oh, don't worry, I'm sure they've built in an identity-based "manual review" to make sure it only targets white people - to defeat racism!

Why are American journalists so racist?

Because someone pays them to be.

It's truly remarkable how a journalist's ethics rapidly and completely line up with those of the person paying them money.

It's not exactly incidental.

Take a look at the whole "trans children" thing. They're desperately hoping that if they can coerce enough children into the trans lifestyle, some of them will survive learning what's been done to them and become New Soviet Men true progressive icons.

They're just willing to destroy all of the other children in the process of getting there - this is the mindset that the various flavours of Marxism seem to breed - it's all just grist for the mill, so it might as well be you inflicting unimaginable cruelty on innocents, because if it isn't you, it'll only be somebody else.

Remember, you're not talking politics, you're talking human rights

First and second amendments describe rights, do they not? ;)

No, but J.R.R. did.

Lancashire Fusiliers, in action at the Somme. Tolkien himself was invalided back home, most of his battalion were wiped out at the Somme while he was recovering.

And it is made even thornier by the drama’s most disagreeable character, a victim of Fred’s, now grown up and portrayed all too irritatingly well by Tim Hopper.

Hopper’s Andy arrives at the home with his misguidedly encouraging wife Em (Sally Murphy) to confront Fred. The playwright cannot hide his scorn for Andy, who has made a successful life for himself as a Chicago finance guy and now seems intent on some kind of purging reunion with the man who molested him as a child on a piano bench.

Yeah, because of all of the detestable people in the play, the one the playwright hated was the victim.

Fuck off, WaPo...

Mostly they don't understand why the women don't want to turn themselves into men - either psychologically or surgically - and hate women who wish to, well, remain women, because they keep undermining feminist idolatry.

Ok, which "literal Nazi", and do I win a prize for guessing that they are not actually a literal Nazi?

The thing is, it's the ultimate unfalsifiable hypothesis.

No global communist utopia? Well, there must be something you've yet to burn to the ground, then!

But criminals are a big up-and-coming demographic for the DNC! Making laws that apply to them would be electoral suicide!

I do have to wonder what 2000s Sam Harris would make of 2020s Sam Harris. I can't help but think that 2000s Sam Harris would be quite disappointed in what he becomes.

True enough, but I don't want "moral" companies stamping their own version of corporate ethics onto the entire population. I expect corporations to be amoral, held in check only by the law.

I expect amoral corporations to be held accountable to the law that the government writes.

I expect the government to be held accountable by it's electorate. The electorate's control starts there.

Oh, agreed, but these people are just not interested in accurately representing the US Constitution. Given that - as recent reverses have demonstrated - they cannot go around it, their next best hope is to change the English language itself until it no longer holds the same meaning.

These people are genuinely taking 1984 as an instruction manual.

Does Governor Wolf ever get tired enough of dancing on the graves of children to provide any details or are we just supposed to be outraged like the obedient sheep we're supposed to be?

I'm not sure it's wise to have conversations about natural predators when the newspaper stories on schoolteachers abusing their pupils are right there

I presume it's a reference to the coveralls rather than the White Guard of the Russian Revolution (or some racial thing)...

The news piece states that they were a contractor. That's the deal for contractors - you get a way higher pay rate to account for the inherent uncertainty in the role.

Yup, while the aim of the US state system is to allow for each State to experiment and see what works, I'm fairly sure the intention was not an attempt to implement neo-marxism 50 times in the hope that one of them wouldn't turn into a total disaster...

It also seems to lead to terrible characterisation. Because we have a diverse cast playing diverse characters, we mustn't ever put them through any adversity, because that would be problematic.

And so the character - every character - turns to porridge.

Well, she's making herself sound selectable, isn't she? The only discussion she's interested in is a monologue.

Canada is a failed state

Unfortunately, I'm not sure I agree. It's current direction is not the result of failure to achieve objectives but seemingly a quite conscious re-shaping of society into a totalitarian autocracy - all for the good of the Canadian subjects, of course.
