It absolutely breaks them to see the result of tribalistic peoples not actually learning shit. In their quest for power, they drove out or murdered those with knowledge. And they fucking starved as a result. I can’t believe someone actually went back. Are they expecting a different result this time?

I'm guessing that it was Chinese pressure that caused this about-face. They invested money in Zimbabwe and got mad at the Zimbabweans burning their investment down. At the time of the coup there were lots of rumours that China backed it. So, if Chinese power ever falters they'll go right back to the way it was. IMO those whites are idiots for returning.

You grew something. That's awesome. Growing stuff is really good for you and everyone around you.
Growing crops, enough to turn a profit and feed your family and large numbers of other people is a different thing altogether. Building and maintaining a farmhouse. Overseeing an estate. Farming. This takes levels of knowledge and skill that go well beyond getting a plant to grow.
I've cooked dinner for myself. That doesn't mean I'm capable of running a restaurant.
The field has to grow something next season too. Good management of anything is a notable achievement.
Modern agriculture is EXTREMELY high tech. And has to be, because there are simply too many people to feed by doing things the old-fashioned ways.

And when you have international backing and funding you should be easily able to do it. Industrial farming really isn't difficult on a conceptual level.
But they can't do it even with the entire world behind them.

I can teach anyone how to be a farmer:
1 dig a hole
2 put a seed in
3 put dirt on top
4 add water
5 up comes the corn
It's a bit harder than that.
You need to know how deep to till (it depends on where you are). You'll need to fertilize the soil, but not too much (again it depends on where you are). The soil mustn't be too wet or too dry. Irrigation can get quite complex. Again it depends on where you are. Rain-fed agriculture doesn't work everywhere, plus it leaves you vulnerable to droughts. Too much rain and you'll have to get rid of the excess water. Any operation at scale will need proper irrigation (this is one of the things the Zimbabweans just couldn't do, in fact - they ripped out the pipes the whites laid to sell for scrap, then they were surprised they couldn't grow much). Then there's pest control. (In Zimbabwe, animal and human pests - you could say even the white farmers failed at this.) Plus, you'll need to deal with weeds and crop diseases. Can you afford Monsanto's seeds and Roundup? That's the easiest way. If you want to go the biological route it's another long list of "it depends on where you are". You'll also need to be careful about not exhausting the soil, if you want to grow something next year as well.
Even if you manage it, OK, then you'll have a bunch of corn. Can you process it? Store it properly? Can you sell it easily? Can you transport it? Again, this is where Zimbabwe failed. Even if you only aim to feed yourself and somehow don't need to pay taxes, you still need money to pay for upkeep of the irrigation systems, to buy fertilizer, etc, etc.

A friend of mine and his family had to flee there like 15 years ago when a bunch of savages showed up at their farm and were going to kill him and his father and rape his mother and sister. Only the father having a rifle, there not being enough savages and his promise leave the next day (but mostly the rifle) kept the low lives at bay.
They had to flee with almost nothing, just what they could cram in the car while his father spent the day spraying his fields with whatever toxic chemical he could find.

i believe those farmers come back as managers so do not have land/money to lose this time round. Also many forget the were born and raised in that country so they may havd some love fof if , if not the rulers.
