i dislike the "this is my childhood/this is yours" memes, and its only just pop culture from the time: TV, movies, music, and video games.
If that really was all you did as a child was to consume media, you didnt have a childhood.
Not to mention that I highly doubt that people only ever watched their generation's media. I grew up in the 90's and 2000's, but I have fond memories of watching Rocky and Bullwinkle on video.

yeah you dont get it. or maybe that is supposed to be satirical or something. Consuming media is not a childhood regardless of the era of the media production.
To be fair, all the above characters are great, none of which are geared towards a 'modern audience'. Things don't get problematic until after all of these franchises ended.
Gravity Falls was the dam cracking and leaking before Disney went completely woke, but it's not irredeemable. Grunkle Stan alone is worth the price of admission.

Another nice thing about the bottom panel was the characters acted mature, and you could keep up with what was going on.
Many modern cartoon characters spaz out half the time and wildly shift how they feel by the second. It just kills whatever little immersion I already had in the cartoon. The modern cartoons that don't do that kill the immersion by shaking their political fingers in my face.
Not Gen x but I still grew up watching Thundercats, Masters of the Universe, Eon Flux, Maxx, TMNT.
