Went looking to buy an album I liked the other day, and literally could not figure out how to do it. The only things I could come up with was signing up for some subscription service, or finding it used at a second hand store.
A similar thing happened to me when I wanted to watch a certain movie. It showed up on Amazon Video but it was just "unavailable" with no reason given. Don't even know why they listed it in the first place. It also wasn't on YouTube.
I was willing to pay to watch it; but I guess it's only available on the high seas.
Every streaming service in the US will go out of their way to block VPN users, even if you're paying them a monthly fee. If you want to watch live sports and use a VPN you straight up do not have any option besides piracy.
Ran into the same issue years ago when I wanted to get my hands on the soundtrack for S4 League. Couldn't find a legit avenue to just purchase a CD so I gave up and just grabbed the mp3s off a link someone had posted on youtube.
I see nothing wrong with giving excessive sick days, if you want to virtue signal. "Men on average take 6 sick days per year. Women on average take 30, 2 per month for reasons unknown because men and women are biologically equal, and the usual 6. So we're giving 30 sick days to everyone." is a perfectly fine, if not exactly business-cutthroat, stance to take.
JUST giving sick days for periods, though, is discrimination. Not just sexist, but ageist, and ableist too. And transphobic! Lots of woke no-no words!
But dont worry, it has been a year since we released an anniversary bundle of our outdated slop, so expect another anniversary bundle segmented into 4 games
How about explicit legal position that if you deliberately refuse to sell a videogame, you can't bitch that someone else distributes it instead : an Abandonware.
''B-b-but, it's the same game!'' Okay then my licence for the original one is good for a free download? Maby a small DLC fee? If it's the ''same game still distributed''.
Not that it's difficult to find and emulate basically anything from dozens of websites by typing ''Whatever Game ROM''.
The limit being your PC or emulation handheld's processing and graphics power.
Oh how could I forget to mention upscaling, HD texture packs and ROMhacks when mentionning emulation?
Cool. Then I guess you can't be mad when people pirate the originals for the OG experience.
As Gabe said a long time ago piracy is a service problem, not a pricing problem.

Can't even give them money if you WANT too.

And then they complain about the high seas.

“…and set in a new alternative reality where we ask ourselves “what if?” With a diverse cast of loveable misfits who better reflect today’s world…”
If there's a hilariously evil company that would go full DEI and Diversity™, it's Umbrella Corp.
Explains the cock ups.
"Who reflect the world we live in today."

There's a capcom game I would like to buy then I read an article like this to remember that I do not want to support this dump of a company.
Capcom deserves all of their problems and more.
Fuck any company that takes this stance.
They want profits over fans, they can have neither.
All I hear is Yarr Harr, a Pirate's Life for Me
Pirate your favorite games.
Save the .rar or .zip of the emulators required to run them, if needed.
Pirate your favorite movies.
Pirate your favorite music.
Everything you like is going to eventually disappear from the internet and your hard drives will be the only things left available.
Hey Capcom it would be easy to re-release the old game, provided gog makes it run on modern hardware.
Capcom: lol. lmao even.
I guess emulatiors are back on the menu boys!
Capcom was the first gaming company I remember that openly hated their customer base. And this was back in the 90s
