It’s not been bought out YET.
Silver Lake has just expressed its intention to buy it out and the board has recommended it.
But the decision is with the shareholders (pretty much guaranteed unless some third party comes along and offers more (not unheard of in m&a world))
(also regulators could block an acquisition- but given trump’s son in law - probably wouldn’t)
I refuse to believe it's worth that much and the money isn't being used to simply buy out certain staff and telling them to GTFO forever.
Like other people have said this could easily mean nothing, but it could be an opportunity for Trump to reign in EA and force them to push apolitical/dissident right aligned content, finance the anti-regressive movement, and kill microtransactions and other predatory monetization tactics.

Best possible outcome of this for me is that they'll take EA out back like EA did so many times to others.
And maybe someone that still has a spark of care will find a property or IP from EA that they have a passion project for and will make something nice.
So I'll probably just continue to not buy or play their games like I have been for the last 12 years now. No change for me.
Notice that Jared Kushner is entangled with the Saudis as part of this deal.
