It makes me wonder just how badly Veilguard had to do, amongst other potential failures they have had in recent months.
Since we know that they are no longer going to be funded by the stock market, how will that impact the company? In theory I feel that being private means investors won't be calling the shots anymore (I don't know how different a private company is in function and funding compared to a public one), but I think the general pessimism about modern gaming will still cloud any change until further notice.
Veilguard was nothing to them. It's just pocket change. Their company is entirely dependent on the success of Madden and (soccer game formerly known as) FIFA.
Losing the FIFA license was a huge blunder by them. And both of their tent pole franchises are struggling to do anywhere near as well as they usually do. If it continues, they will eventually lose their NFL exclusivity deal (really they should lose it regardless) and will be absolutely fucked.
The only silver lining for them is that they actually had to try this year with EA Sports FC (that's what they call FIFA now) 26, which shows with how people think of the gameplay. But we shall see. I wish they didn't kill Need for Speed though.
EA has cash cows and pay pigs. I'm sure they could buy a few publishers and destroy every one of their studios and still come out on top. Could Veilguard really hurt them that bad?
They could probably buy Sony. Not just PlayStation but the actual multinational conglomerate, replace every product they manufacture with jar of piss and still make the money back with fifa and Madden.
honestly, might not bad a bad buy with how much they have destroyed their reputation, surely they must still have a ton of ip that could do very well if not mismanaged
i think you misunderstand, im talking about for the person buying them, as they tanked their rep they can get a lot of ip that would be super easy to turn around if they just stopped with the woke bs
Yeah that explains the stock price hike. If it's expected to go for $50B, the current market cap is about $42B, so if you hold the stock when they are bought you make about a 20% premium.
If the Saudis are getting in on it, I'd expect them to actually go light on the woke at least. I'm sure they'd squeeze it for dollars, but I don't think their intent would be to have it remain full of women and fags.

Looking into it, it is apparently a firm called Silver Lake (based out of Silicon Valley) and is having a significant chunk of money thrown in by a group of Saudi investors.
They are incapable of future planning, they just throw oil money at things and hope for the best. So, I don't think they'll ever reach China's influence. Shame, because they really like the 2000s japanese game aesthetic
To be fair, they threw money at my fave video game company, SNK-Playmore and they're doing decently. They're not popular like Capcom but frankly I don't want DEI faggotry going anywhere near my games.
Mai has the Morrigan 'issue' where because she's as hot as she is, her as a character is more popular than the game she's from, hence why she's one of the first SNK characters to be introduced in a collab with another game, same with Morrigan. But unlike SNK, Capcom keeps wanting us to buy old collections of Darkstalkers games, so we won't be getting Morrigan in a fighting game again until/unless Marvel vs Capcom 4 happens, is my prediction.
I was kind of floored to learn they bought Evo. I knew one of the princes was big into SNK and pretty much single-handedly kept that company from going under a while back, but they seem to be expanding their influence beyond a simple pet project for a guy who likes fighting games with nice looking girls.
This is what I'm wondering. My money is on China and Tencent, which would not inspire a whole lot of confidence. However if they just fuck off to the realm of not having to create shareholder value then maybe they can salvage something from the scrap heap that is their company.
Things must be dire if EA can't make their numbers look good even with Trump wanting to get rid of quarterly reports in favor of semiannual ones.

they're going private, not public. It sounds like you can buy EA right now, and it sounds like they will be buying it back when they go private.
disclaimer: this is not financial advice

Which Jew's buying em tho
Going private is always worse for their reputation.
They will be saddled with MASSIVE loans to buy out the company and nickel and dime customers and employees to the max
But that means they need to keep the customers, and dant afford DEI consultants.

Based goat fuckers.
I guess beheading goat fuckers are good for something once and while
How will video games change if suddenly EA maximizes profit over customers?
😂
Who's buying em?

Ah, the New Jews of the video game world. If it ain't China, it's saudis.

It's not just 'one of the princes', it's MBS himself.
wonder which female character is that saudi prince into from SNK.
Hope they make The Sims playable again

guess its better than becoming ubisoft and being bought out by the CCP.
