Veilguard was nothing to them. It's just pocket change. Their company is entirely dependent on the success of Madden and (soccer game formerly known as) FIFA.
Losing the FIFA license was a huge blunder by them. And both of their tent pole franchises are struggling to do anywhere near as well as they usually do. If it continues, they will eventually lose their NFL exclusivity deal (really they should lose it regardless) and will be absolutely fucked.
The only silver lining for them is that they actually had to try this year with EA Sports FC (that's what they call FIFA now) 26, which shows with how people think of the gameplay. But we shall see. I wish they didn't kill Need for Speed though.
