I think they should stick to their original plan. They have their girlboss successor already set up. They should just greenlight a new blockbuster trilogy around her. I'm sure they would all be massive hits.
I like Glenn Powell, he has a natural charm about him, but he's just not there yet. I'll watch him in stuff but I don't see him as a replacement or comparable to Ford's presence... yet. He still needs that edge.
Now Aaron Taylor Johnson really has come into his own. Even with what little screen time he was given in Tenet he absolutely stole the show. If they ever made a Call of Duty Modern Warfare live-action film, they definitely need Johnson to play Captain Price.
Yeah it'll happen eventually. TBH they should have done that instead of the last movie. Just a new movie with a guy who kinda looks like young Harrison Ford going around doing pulp adventure bullshit in the 30s, Give real Harrison Ford the mentor role(to stick his name on the poster) and have him die at the second act low point
If they had done this with 4, I would have been on board. Might have even pulled it off at 5, if 4 was a transition film. Now, it's way too little, way too late.
Well they tried but no one liked Shia Labeouf as Mutt -- not even Harrison Ford.
What's odd is that the buddy-up they should have done for that one was Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett, as Josh would have been a perfect protege and looked like the kind of guy who could be a pulp adventurer. He's tall, has the look, and carries a bit of that classic Hollywood charm about him.
But going with Mutt and then killing him off off-screen in the fifth movie was the most "modern audience" writing for a Hollywood franchise.
Unfortunately they did not get along... and it even held up production at one point. They eventually got through it, though.
You can check out some interviews of Hartnett and Ford (I don't think they did any together?) Ford had nothing good to say about Hartnett in the same way he had nothing good to say about Shia (ouch).
But I think they still would have worked quite well together on an Indy film. Despite their behind-the-scenes issues, Ford and Hartnett had good chemistry on-film in Hollywood Homicide.
Wouldn’t surprise me. Although that’s a franchise that could’ve been like Bond where different actors assume the role. Like have a young actor in the 90s take over
Especially since it's partially inspired by pulp comics. Who cares if it's formulaic, people like the flavor. Just think of a Macguffin and have a charming fedora man get it
I look at something like Uncharted and wonder how Naughty Dog isn't making sequel after sequel.
Is it true that one of the uncharted sequels was changed to include a girlboss character? Or that he was supposed ti have a son but they made it a daughter
Because Uncharted 4 was a huge dropoff, the Girl Power spinoff probably dropped off even more, and they wanted to focus entirely on Cuckman's feminist slop full time, also getting rid of Amy Hennig.

maybe if shes hot like video game pre 2000 lara croft hot.
He's talking about Phoebe Waller-Bridge. I wouldn't call her unattractive but she's not hot
She’s unattractive.
Indie Anna Jones suck.
Starring everyone's favorite young hip diversity hire, Zendaya.
I'm not sensing sincerity from you on your claim
But they have TOP. MEN. writing it! What could go wro- /face melts
there isn't a young actor today that holds even a tenth of Harrison Ford's masculinity.
Just stick Pedro Pascal in it
Are you an actual Hollywood studio? Because that sounds like something they would say
Or charisma.
You got a point. Glenn Powell is probably a guy that could do it. Henry Cavill or Aaron Taylor Johnson aren't twinkees.
I like Cavill, but Cavill is already in his 40s.

Ford was 38 in the first Indy film. So 40 doesn't seem to old.
Oh yes… that’ll go well. It’ll be full of “appropriate the stolen” and turn into a Robin Hood race swap for modern day but in 1940s.
sigh probably will pull the black Indy card
And gay. Maybe they'll hire the actor who finished killing off Dr Who.

Is the salt made of cyanide?
Didn't they already kill it off though with the crystal skull one
Don't we all wish.
No they made Dial of Destiny after that one.
they rebooting space balls and naked gun ffs ;s..
Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money, a joke turned true.
I would have loved to watch that if it had been made in 90s. But today? The only appropriate meme will be "look how they massacred my boy!"
I think those are sequels and not reboots.

They did Hollywood Homicide together. Did they get along?

I agree 4 felt like a bad movie and felt like a middle finger to the Fandom
Staring Indiana Bonenose?
Nothing can ever just end, can it?

You mean Black Laura Bailey, who effortlessly beat up two lead males on her own, then co-starred in the girl power spinoff with Claudia Black?
Didn’t know the names but I remember hearing something about that. Thanks
There is an unwinnable boss fight with a strong black whamman that beats the shit out of two fit males used to fighting.

Girls really do destroy most things
They already rebooted the franchise into the trash.
Unpopular opinion here: the new Indiana Jones movie was good.
they've already shown that they can't handle the task, why would they be allowed a second try?
They made 2 movies after the trilogy right? im sure they are going to make more.
