Repeating myself from c/gaming, but more than anything this makes me question what the point of consoles is these days. Are they still toys for children? On whose behalf is this censorship mandated? They claim they HAD to do all this to pass certification. Didn't TLOU2 have a disgusting sex scene right on screen? How did that pass certification?
You'd be surprised at how terrified normies are of messing with their computer settings.
Normies don't even use consoles because they're convenient. They just want the false sense of security knowing a corpo will repair their console if things go wrong (they won't)
Either that or they want to recreate the feeling they got when they received their first console for christmas

I can't even remember the number of X-clamp fixes I did back in the heyday of the 360.
Funny thing: I never bothered to fix my own. It's sitting in my shed out back in a bin of original Xbox Duke controllers. I also never bought another console since getting burned (heh) by the red ring.
This isn't new. Console companies have always had completely arbitrary restrictions and rules to be "allowed" on their platform. They don't allow AO games whatsoever, and its extremely nonsensical what makes a game hit AO.
One of the reasons was literally publicity and controversy. Its why the Hot Coffee thing and Manhunt were being threatened with it (because Rockstar was in the news a lot) while God of War or Dante's Inferno were totally fine despite being equally violent and nude.
These days its probably an entire department of these companies getting paid to comb through looking for things to be offended by, and then weight it against how easily they think they'll fold and how political/monetarily it will benefit them. TLOU2 would have been too much controversy so they let it slide, for example, while random anime games or niche products like this won't upset anyone they care about.
The only reason I buy console versions over PC is because I prefer physical games over digital. Course, with PC being so much better, thats just a battle im gonna have to give up on evantually.
I buy consoles because it’s all I’ve done since the 1980’s because I’m a filthy normie who had sex in high school instead of learning how to build supercomputers with PC boards. Don’t know a god damned thing about computers and I’m too old to bother learning, but from what I can ascertain; console gaming is going to shit, PC gaming appears to be starting to as well. It’s just slightly better (for now).
There's nothing about PC gaming thats going to shit. In fact, its thriving more than ever. Building a PC is not hard, its just putting parts together and the worse part is the cable management.
You can also just pay someone to put it together for you. That's what I did with my latest rig. The novelty of assembling the parts myself has long since worn off and I'd rather just hand it to someone who does it all day and have them do it so I don't short out the motherboard like I did that one time back in college. That and figuring out some of the case to mobo connections can be pretty awful depending on how shitty the documentation is.
It's not even hard to put the parts together, everything has a single place where it fits and it's really easy to make a computer tell you every part you need to build a computer.
so.. red pill is the problem?? lol. and of course, when you give leftist an inch, they take a mile. now they demand changes left and right because they see you capitulated.
Ready or Not's driving narrative force is a city in decay, societal, moral, and actual decay. It's very similar to Gotham, minus the psychos in spandex and the New York stylings. Hell, the game has you busting a human trafficking operation and a pedophilia ring. The game gets even darker by implying children are being murdered and buried inside oil barrels. To sand down the edges defeats the purpose.
To steal a reply on twitter: The left is so desperate for something to be offended over they're literally looking in the trash.
To save anyone a click: There's an in game trash can that has an empty box of "Noggin Joggers" medicine.
Confirmation that the Joggers thing was not only successful but now upsets at least someone.

I haven't had that feeling since the GameCube. Buying a new console today is like buying a new phone: downloading updates and lots of waiting.
Consoles haven't been consoles in a very long time.

Makes you wonder how popular Mass Effect might have been without the "alien side boob" controversy.
Its (D)ifferent.
It's d(I)fferent

Am I more or less correct?

Get a Steam Deck.
It's literally all the best parts about PC gaming, but in the form factor and OS that acts identical to a console.
If you can use/play a Nintendo Switch, you can play a Steam Deck.
Where's all the complainers about forum sliding? Here's a post about gaming and not one of them dolts have shit to say.

We voted this out in 2024.
