They just want the false sense of security knowing a corpo will repair their console if things go wrong (they won't)
I can't even remember the number of X-clamp fixes I did back in the heyday of the 360.
Funny thing: I never bothered to fix my own. It's sitting in my shed out back in a bin of original Xbox Duke controllers. I also never bought another console since getting burned (heh) by the red ring.
