What caused the trans shit to get worse is the over medication of the West especially of it's kids, suggesting EVERYTHING must be solved with a medical 'solution' than effort like exercise.

you mentioned gamers and nerds, so i'm gonna pull on that thread a little bit. Gamers were one of the first groups that mounted any kind of significant resistance to woke influence. Obviously Metalgate was a thing more recently, and I suspect there are other examples I'm not aware of.

My gut reaction without thinking on it too hard is to just say "maleness". Gaming engages the autism brain, which is basically just an extreme version of many male proclivities. It also contains an innate component of competition, whether that be PvP or PvE. Then add a dash of disagreeableness, whether it be the console wars or talking smack during a match. These are all innately male behaviors. How many other of these subcultures are as strongly aligned with the male psyche?
could be. it may not even be a single universal element. it could be something in the particular hobby/interest that finds communist dogma irritable, one that isn't necessarily the same in each sub group.
easy joke is autism, but i suspect it's something more intrinsic to the hobby/interest in question, perhaps something vital to the interest that is wholly incompatible with marxist dogma.
it wouldn't have to be the same specific element necessarily, just anything that's rubbed the wrong way by the communist worldview within any of the resistant groups. gaming for instance is aggressively meritocratic, to the point that games guides will often go into excruciatingly minute details on the stats of this or that specific item or choice.
speaking of stats, maybe we're looking too narrowly, sports is a more mainstream hobby that's also very meritocratic, meticulous in its study of statistics, and has also pushed back (and hard) on communist indoctrination. granted, the major institutions embraced it wholeheartedly, but the fans have been anything but welcoming of the intrusion.
Heavy metal, while a semi-niche genre today, was pretty mainstream at one point. i couldn't pin down a specific element that would rub metalheads the wrong way about communism, but i don't think it's statistics. certainly, if you can't play worth a damn, they aint interested, though.

Gamers want to have fun games to play, games they can immerse themselves in that play to their fantasies, like being a beast of a man with rippling muscles who dominates the outside world and ends up with the big tittied goth girl in the end or whatever sexy woman. Inserting leftist ideals into games, like gender fluidity and girl power destroys those fantasies, so of course they’d be one of the first groups to push back.
Science fiction/fantasy (then just "adventure" or "fantasy") tried in the late 30s/early 40s, failed, and brought about the rise of the "big man with screwdriver" 40s-60s SF. There was a rise in "counterculture" SF that led to a young film maker named Lucas making a film in 1977, using a late "golden age" SF writer as his template. This led to the late 80s/early 90s SF pushback that lead to Baen books and the rise of the "military" SF genre. That led to the most recent pushback, where the Sad Puppies/Rabid Puppies have wrested some of the space back.

This, but can't understate the Internet's impact here. 5-10 weirdos of each specific subculture at a larger school might form tight cliques, but they still have to deal with surviving in that environment. Add social media and the 10 weirdos from every school can create a nationwide clique of 100k weirdos, be loud, create the illusion of being an even more sizeable group, and start forcing an agenda.

I used to enjoy being around the Juggalo crowd when I was younger and it was mostly about being a bunch of misfits finding camaraderie in enjoying really bad rap together. Nowadays it's just Burning Man with facepaint. I'm not surprised to hear it's degraded further like this.
That’s just what happens when spaces lose their masculinity and/or become overly feminized. Look at for convention scene. It was never a bastion of traditional masculinity, but it used to be almost entirely a male space. Then women realized they could gain validation, attention, and resources from thirsty losers, and now conventions are wildly overpriced recruiting grounds used by onlyfans prostitutes. I used to think of tumblr as containment, but now I know it was more like an incubator. The rest of the world was not sufficiently inoculated against the manipulative narcissism of LGBTQ subversion, so all of social media was quickly infiltrated and overwhelmed after tumblr shut down.
Tumblr is literally where words like "Woke" were used as unironic terms before getting repurposed and was the breeding ground for Intersectionality, which is what Woke is currently used to describe.
They were evolving before Homestuck but Homestuck definitely attracted lots of proto-troons and vulnerable folks and gave the elder troons a community to infect.

In the earlier days of the tranny movement taking off, they were absolutely not synonymous and were in fact in a civil war similar to the current LibFem vs TERF one.
Trenders wanted trannyism to just be a personality quirk they could use for attention and AGP, similar to "self diagnosed" mental afflictions where as "truscum" (as they were called) believed it was a medical condition (gender dysphoria).
The trenders won, got gender dysphoria discarded as a thing entirely, and then pretended it was always a singular solidified movement.

Juggalos were one of the most visible and large white "gangs" in America, that had considerable amount of "wrongthink" subgroups (White Nationalist, antisemitic, etc) allowed to exist within them and were extremely focused on constantly by the media regularly for hitpieces.
What I'm getting at is they were absolutely infiltrated by the Feds, and those feds are likely the reason why even the Juggalos became so gay, so extra "wrongthink" and all the other differences between it now and historically.
I've known a few Juggalos in my life from back in the day, and as cringe as they were they would have beaten everyone in the photo to death for being a faggot. They were the epitome of white trash violence in a person, and everyone pictured here is straight out of a Leftist hippy festival.

We know how the rot affects inner cities with spiraling competence, broken families, and an overall downward trend generation over generation. This is just that same phenomenon in white communities.
We had all these subcultures when I was in high school in the 1980s, the differences today are:
Childhood vaccine schedule: Born in 1971, I had polio (oral), measles, mumps, and tetanus by the time I was in high school, and didn't get any new ones other than periodic tetanus boosters. Children in HS today have a vaccine schedule that is HUGE, something like 47 different shots. The effects of this greatly expanded shot schedule have not been formally studied, but all sorts of learning difficulties have become much more prevalent so something is going on.
Culture: When I was in HS no fault discipline wasn't a thing, and school fights were not automatic suspensions for both parties.
Technology: NO INTERNET, NO CELL PHONES, NO TABLETS - I didn't have any of the tech we take for granted now.
I can't begin to tell you how much always available everywhere internet and social media has affected social dynamics. This, too, is just now starting to be studied, and needs a lot more study to document the effects. All I know is no kid of mine is getting a smart phone, and will only be able to access the internet in a public space, no wireless enabled laptop in his room.
Never being able to get away from bullies thanks to 24/7 device access is a big problem for kids, on top of other things.
But surely, interacting with a hive of self-entitled adolescent trenders on the internet will do wonders for his confidence. ;)
While a laudable goal and all, know that your child will be mocked and ostracized for not having access to the same things as others and talking about being in high school 40 years ago and what you'll do if you have kids, my man you line ends with you if it hasn't continued on by now. And even if you do, the chance of you being gone by the time they've graduated high school is a non-trivial one.
My kid will never set foot in a public school.
