The legal action, filed last week in Hennepin County District Court, argues that the businesses have lost revenue, real estate value, reputation, and tenant and rental income. It argues that the city's decisions led to higher crime and created a “no go zone” for police in the area. It replaces an earlier lawsuit by the businesses that was dismissed two months ago.
Isn't that rich the businesses are unhappy that the lack of police presence is causing them issues
Did they though? I actually get the impression that they were among the few that DIDN'T want things to go that way, that didn't encourage the rioting, that didn't want the police essentially dismantled. But I haven't looked at the article, and don't know who these "business owners" are.
I have friends in the twin cities. It was virtually all businesses.l who went along with the leftists. There was no meaningful dissent against the Floyd riots whatsoever. We can safely say that a bunch of people went along to get along, but almost 100% of those businesses cucked hard for BLM and got what they deserved.
I can't believe they have the acumen to even set up a business. I've worked with very talented engineers and designers who have a political IQ of 60 and drop logic for emotion on a dime, and that still confounds me.
No they didn't. The situation for the businesses and homes is way worse than anyone actually understood. They were basically barricaded in their homes and businesses for weeks as a violent, armed, mob got into multiple gunfights with drug dealers and each other. They were effectively besieged, called the police, and wanted some way to protect their stores and homes or get evacuated, and were told it was not possible.
Anyone who left got their homes and stores looted and then squatted on by Communists.
The area, now known as George Floyd Square, has become a place of pilgrimage for social justice supporters from across the country, and the store has renamed itself Unity Foods. But business owners say they haven't benefitted, while activists and officials remain divided over how to transform the intersection while keeping it as a permanent memorial
It should be turned into a park and kept in the exact state that it was left in as a warning of what happens when you let Black National Socialists and White Communists work together to kill civilization.
It's the new "Martin Luther King Jr Avenue" curse. I think Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock both did bits on if you find yourself on MLK ave you're fucked.
The Boondocks did a 'what if' episode where instead of dying, MLK awoke from a 35 year coma. One of the bits was "MLK discovered streets named after him weren't in the best neighborhoods" as he ran from gunfire.
I took down my post for bad information. Looks like most comprehensive business insurance policies do cover "civil unrest", but after the Summer of Floyd they've been working at turning civil unrest into a separate policy.
That said, places like Minneapolis either have prohibitive premiums or are straight-up refused insurance given the chimpout risk. So no, businesses won't be moving back in.

Not surprised. They get what they asked for.

One of the businesses suing, changed their name to Unity Foods.
It was to try and protect their business, use your head ffs.
You are the biggest faggot on this entire network, no matter which site you’re on.

True. I just assumed these were the ones encouraging it, but clearly not all business owners

Thanks for clarifying.

Gotcha. And the mayor told the cops to stand down. But I do remember local politicians whining about the spike in crime.
Gitz has no idea what he’s talking about.
Saying that doesn't change the interviews I watched at the time.
Oh yeah, the politicians are all shit.
This is beyond parody

The intersection of MLK and Malcolm-X is guaranteed dangerous.

Can confirm that my local MLK Blvd growing up was one of the least safe roads in town.
Its now a 6 lane mega sprawl, so its unsafe in a completely different manner with the speeds niggers going to walmart drive.
The city is just trying to listen to their constituents. These two tweets are from the last few weeks: https://nitter.poast.org/CrimeWatchMpls/status/1853885891032293661

They're just collecting on all that "insurance" people keep saying they had :)

Is that actually true? I've been wondering about that quite honestly.
