"I think Lauren is this, Tenet might be this, Tim should have done that"
Are people in this thread retarded? Youtube nuking their channel is almost certainly because of youtube being an enemy platform. Not because the allegations have any merit.
Disclaimer: I don't even know what the allegations are or who Tenet are exactly. I'm just taking the most obvious and simplest explanation.
While I don't think the Tenet organization are Russian assets or anything...from the very start they handled their organization ineptly, and wasted their talent.
And them not addressing this issue, while I think every individual creator has addressed it, is a pretty bad look. Tenet should have put out a video immediately; either from Chen, or someone on the channel...probably someone big like Tim Pool. Tenet management should have just told Tim to address the issue on the Tenet channel.
The only one I'd fully trust on this, though, is Matt Christiansen...and as a smaller creator it sounds like he wasn't even in the know in the slightest. The whole thing is a mess, and I wish Tenet was behaving sanely and telling people what is up. But, again, they've been retarded from the very start.
Honestly, I can buy that Chen is the issue here and everyone else was in the dark. Considering they were all blindsided and it sounds like the money stayed with Chen, it is probably the most believable outcome. And it looks like most of the people tangentially related like Tim, Dave Rubin, and Benny Johnson (the three I checked) are still fine and still have their channels.
That said, on the other hand, I absolutely do not doubt that this is a political hit job. Since it seems that it is starting to dawn on the powers that be that Trump is more likely than not going to win, so they are setting up Russiagate 2.0 to try and stymie him right off the rip. But I dont think it will work as well this time around.
And it looks like most of the people tangentially related like Tim, Dave Rubin, and Benny Johnson (the three I checked) are still fine and still have their channels.
We live in a time of guilt by association. I wouldn't say they're safe yet.
The DOJ's own indictment said the the contributors weren't implicated.
Southern has been silent, she and Chen go back farther than anyone else so maybe she knew something but I think they kept that hidden from everyone including White Lauren.
I'm still not even convinced any of this is true. I'm not ready to throw Chen under the bus, although I agree she's most likely to be involved, if there's anything to be involved in.
Also, I think if there's something at all, it was likely Russians working for the US. If the allegations are true, it's weird they tried so hard to get Tim Pool and the like onboard, but didn't ask him for anything. If there's even half-truths here, the whole thing was still a massive setup. They potentially created a phony organization, just to try to ruin independent political commentary, and big names like Tim Pool specifically.
If the allegations are true, it's weird they tried so hard to get Tim Pool and the like onboard, but didn't ask him for anything.
That's the funny thing, it's not like any of the hires seemed to have a shift in beliefs or start talking about stuff they weren't talking about before. Other than Matt & Tayler they all had pretty big followings before and pretty much everyone knew who they were, so it's not like this gave them some big platform.
So what was their plan exactly??
Step 1. Fund new media company
Step 2. ?????
Step 3. Trick Westerners into loving glorious Russia
Which just goes to show the story is not what they're trying to say, and these people were targets of an attack, not targets of a con to spread propaganda for a foreign power. This is character assassination; they were never asked to do anything, and my have been tangentially connected to foreigners. And the US government was either directly involved, or at the very least let it happen and continue to happen, until the most convenient time to "expose" them.
Again, character assassination, and an attack on all independent media.
Both her and Destiny refuse to confirm or deny even when pressed directly. Everyone knows they've hung out extensively in the past so this isn't physically impossible or anything (besides Destiny being a midget).
She's not some kind of unimpeachable figure who's ascended above e-celeb drama. It's a simple solution for her: deny. But for some reason she can't even do that.
Dunno where y'all have been recently but Southern is an E-Drama lolcow atp.
She's been rampaging and whining on about incels and misogyny and showing the class how every bitch is the same and they all clan up once their money/positions get threatened.
Just because an internet celebrity won't respond to every "DID YOU FUCK PERSON X????" is nowhere near approaching the levels of evidence. If I were famous I'd ignore those kind of claims too- you answer 1 then you have to answer every other one and then dumbasses just keep throwing names at you and if you ever get tired of denying they scream "SEE, PROOF! WHY WON'T THEY JUST DENY IT???????"
It's gay, teenage high school drama shit- stop it, be better.
DOJ Guy #1: "The Russians are financing this,. Should we shut it down?"
DOJ Guy #2: "NO! If we submit a FISA warrant, we can spy on every right-wing commentator who signs up for maybe a year or more! They won't know it's Russia, so when the story breaks, they'll look terrible! And in the run up to the election, we get to monitor ALL their private comms!"
The SAME PEOPLE who used the Steele Dossier as justification to spy on Trump's campaign, despite knowing it was sourced from Russia and paid for by Clinton's campaign.
They could have stopped it literally any time... but they wanted those precious private internal communications. Their Democrat bosses NEEDED TO KNOW.
Yeah but why are we supposed to care though? I don't watch ecelebs, but what exactly is so bad about someone getting money from a foreign state TV broadcaster - which was interchangeable with any other scummy state broadcaster on the globe up until the gay slavic proxy war happened and now it's verboten - to say apparently sensible things that anyone could realise on their own anyway. If there are people out there who genuinely need Lauren Chen to help them reach obvious conclusions, and if Lauren Chen genuinely needs foreign money and scripts to put those perspectives out, then that money is practically charity. I don't give a fuck.
The larger picture is that this is just a flex for western governments to start threatening influencers with the law if they don't parrot CurrentThing. There are so many unfriendly foreign parties investing in everything that it's trivial to start retroactively painting anybody you want to as an agent. When will it apply to Tencent money? I'm certain it won't apply to anyone getting money from Israel any time soon, anyway.
Foreign agents are supposed to register with the DOJ if they are engaging in domestic lobbying or advocacy. They also said that the Russians were money laundering. She wasn't charged with anything.
Is there any evidence of 'fans getting pissed off' with Chen over this or is it a synthetic news narrative pushed entirely by the US govt, in order to put influencers in fear of legal reprisal for following the wrong script? All this convoluted intrigue about RT money cloaks the fact that the 2 Russians indicted are 'at large' because they're in Russia, so this is entirely for show. They will never face any kind of trial unless maybe they're dumb enough to start jetsetting through WEF-run countries.
where it gets shady with youtubers
And what you've said mostly applies generically to all youtubers, though MrBeast's scandal to my understanding is about a geek covering for his tranny groomer friend, so I don't see how it compares.
In recent memory Disney ran practically all the biggest names in the space, including Pewdiepie up until 2017 when they dropped him for 'anti-semitism'. There's still loads of nebulous 'Creators Studios' running people like this. We can quibble over whether or not every big money interest is an actor for a foreign state, but we also know that that propaganda doesn't require that level of directness in the era of globohomo. The biggest propaganda push nowadays is essentially stateless or else comes from what our own governments would consider as allied nations. When are we going to hear about anyone punished for working with Britain's 77th Brigade, GCHQ and JTRIG? Never.
It's safest to assume ANY well-known influencer is compromised to some degree. Example, the internet starts clucking about MatPat quitting... Never heard of the guy so I look him up. Oh right, turns out this is a guy who personally 'interviewed' Antony Fauci as a vaccine propaganda advert on his GAMING channel in 2021. Do people think he did that for free? Seems people weren't thinking about it at all, because I was the only one criticising this connection anywhere I looked, except the comments of the original video. People are so used to being propagandised to their faces and thinking it's fine, that they're now conditioned to salivating at 'discovering' the propaganda their masters tell them has gone on behind their backs.
Nobody's pointed to anything specific Chen has said that she wouldn't have said without the influence of RT money, yet I can very definitely point to things my country's media have said which they would never have said without the influence of the US government. I absolutely refuse to pretend to give a fuck about any of this theatre and that's coming from someone who's relatively hardline anti-Russia compared to most, at a guess.
YouTube says "This channel was removed because it violated our Community Guidelines," but that may not mean what it says, as I know they have some weird messages and behaviors sometimes. Perhaps YT did just nuke them though.
I'm glad Matt Christiansen (the only one of the bunch I generally care about, and also probably the smallest so most likely to be negatively affected) has diversified, and isn't solely relying on YT. Still...I'd be sweating bullets and, sadly, I think he is. Dude can't catch a break...or a hit piece.
I just saw "This page isn't available. Sorry about that. Try searching for something else."
Beanie, Benny & Rubin are bitches but I still kinda like Lauren, Tayler Hansen is a great hardcore reporter though- sucks for him. I have no real feelings on Matt.
YouTube is very weird when it comes to how it handles that.
If you go to https://www.youtube.com/@watchTENET you get "404 Not Found" and the "This page isn't available. Sorry about that. Try searching for something else" message you mentioned.
Same can be done for Lauren. YT claims both were removed for violated but, again, I think their messaging system can be really broken sometimes too.
Beanie, Benny & Rubin are bitches but I still kinda like Lauren, Tayler Hansen is a great hardcore reporter though- sucks for him. I have no real feelings on Matt.
I think Beanie is a net positive, although I don't enjoy his content. I think Benny adds nothing to his content, and is a leach who somehow made it big. I think Rubin is somewhere in the middle; not as useful as Tim, and has some really bad takes and is untrustworthy, but still has some useful lib-busting content sometimes. Lauren has flipflopped too much, but isn't the worst either. Not familiar with Tayler, but seemed good from the little I've seen.
He's astonishingly bland. People hate on Tim Pool, but Pool's content is downright genius, and Pool is super charismatic, compared to Benny Johnson.
I don't like to hate, and I'm not a "hater" per se, but that's my impression, the few times I've stumbled across Benny's content. He doesn't add anything, anyone else could do what he does, and likely do it better. No clue how he got so big; he doesn't seem to bring anything to the table.
He's basically the millennial Hannity- he parrots whatever the popular positions in the movement are at the moment and never once comes up with anything original to say. Nor does he ever seem to hold any contrarian views on any topic.
I'd take that to mean that the @watchTENET alias has been disassociated from the channel. So instead of pointing to the channel and returning the "this channel was removed" message, it's gone back to being an unassigned alias pointing to nothing.
She says that quotes from their communications cited have both of them specifically referring to "the Russians" when talking about their backers.
IIRC the Steele Dossier made similar statements about Trump's communications.
I don't believe this for a second. You wouldn't refer to "The Russians" being your funders. You'd say "Putin" or the name of the russian organization doing the funding. If you're a complicit spy/propagandist you don't say this AT ALL because you want to be on the up and up and know you're being spied on.
My guess is the actual quotes are more along the lines of "We've got to make sure our funding sources aren't coming from the Russians."
I watched Potentially Criminal (Sean Martin), a lawyer, review some of the indictment as well.
I didn't actually come across any parts where Chen and her husband explicitly refer to Russians in their communications.
The smoking gun in the parts he reviewed was Chen, apparently already under surveillance, googling "What time is it in Moscow?" when she didn't immediately receive a response to a request why their money to pay Rubin & Pool was 2 weeks late from their "Paris" contact.
Yeah coz - asking Siri “what time is it in Moscow” is a treasonous offense compared to telling the judge of the indictment that you were talking about “The Russians”
While trying to find background on Liam Donovan (who doesn't have much of an Internet footprint), I came across other non-Kim Iversen sources claiming the indictment specifically mentions Chen & Donovan openly referring to "the Russians".
Fwiw, I like Chen and don't really care that much about Russian funding.
The case does really hinge though, in the court of public opinion at least, if she knowingly and surreptitiously accepted Russian monies.

Maybe Lauren Chen cannot put out a statement because the DOJ is throwing lawfare charges at her like its some kind of Whitmer fake kidnapping?
(Matt Christiansen has a great weekly youtube show that I can recommend to everyone. )
From my understanding, Lauren isn't being charged at all. It's two Russians, and she's named in the context of the indictment.
Honestly, I can buy that Chen is the issue here and everyone else was in the dark. Considering they were all blindsided and it sounds like the money stayed with Chen, it is probably the most believable outcome. Calling Lauren Southern "White Lauren" might be a bit disingenuous.
She's Canadian of Danish ancestry, doesn't get much whiter than that.
I've never seen any real proof Lauren is a crypto-Jew, but anyone with credible rumors of hooking up with Destiny is pretty much suspect on anything
I'd push back on those rumors being credible.
Both her and Destiny refuse to confirm or deny even when pressed directly. Everyone knows they've hung out extensively in the past so this isn't physically impossible or anything (besides Destiny being a midget).

This comes off differently for those of us that know Christiansen's history.
There are years of tradition among his paypigs that send in chats live with "Matt & I made love..." homoerotic narratives.
Matt is married with children btw.
Listened to Kim Iversen tonight.
She personally read through the whole indictment.
Kim claims that the indictment specifically mentions that Chen & her husband were both personally aware of the Russian source of their funding.
She says that quotes from their communications cited have both of them specifically referring to "the Russians" when talking about their backers.
Ngo posted just after the above that they were raided, so that fits with what you heard.
IIRC the Steele Dossier made similar statements about Trump's communications.
