But criminologists don't see a link between violent crime and immigrant background. Though non-Germans are disproportionately represented in police knife crime statistics, that in itself is not a very helpful insight, argued Baier.

"If we look closer at the group of non-Germans, we find very different groups of people: There are Eastern Europeans, North Africans, we have South Americans, we have people of Arab background," he said. "Those are very different cultures, so we can't say there's anything like a specific 'knife' culture, or an ethnic background that has a direct connection to carrying knives."

"We really need to talk less about the country they came from, but the circumstances of their lives," he added. "In what milieus do they grow up? Among which friends, that they think it's important to carry knives? What's their educational background? We need to look at their social circumstances, and not get stuck on nationality."

Imagine getting paid to be this obtuse...

You can get along with almost any non-white/straight/etc person when they're in an environment where it's made very clear that they're only being tolerated, not celebrated.

Deutsche Welle is literally government propaganda. It's run and paid for by the German government.

He assumed he could fight the Soviet Union and be left alone. He assumed he could kick the Rothschild bank out and be left alone. Nope, the UK and France declared war on Germany. He actually tried to establish peace with them. Nobody wants to fight a war on both sides. The Soviet Union was a big enough opponent as it is.

Thinking Germany forced anyone to do anything is like thinking Biden is actually making the decisions.

Germany is the power of Europe. Rest of Europe is Germany's bitch, so they do get the right to complain about Germany.

Almost as bad as red SUVs.

I can't get over the fact that when the perp of a given crime is white, they talk about his color, but when he's not, they talk about the color of his car.

Maybe if these knives could be sharpened in a more respectful fashion? They just press them against a whetstone or a stone disk. That has to be dehumanizing. It could very well be why these knives are lashing out against their neighbors. Consent has to be a part of the entire process. Ask yourself as the knife is sliding between your ribs, if you might have been a part of the problem?

I propose we send the knives to hug academy, rather than embrace the far right rhetoric of remaining un-stabbed. It just feels too soulless and pragmatic to avoid the difficult topic of how the knives feel. Everyone knows being stabbed by unsheathed culturally diverse knives and shivs that identify as knives isn't happening it's a good thing. Who are we to try and colonize the blade's traditions?

The type of knife the stabber used was already banned, but hey.

My advice would be to make attacks on people illegal, but that must be too big of a brain move for the German government...

The yellow sign at the bottom of the article… does that mean no guns, no knives, and no farting? One of those is not like the other. Is that a Germany thing I’m not getting?

In case you're not joking, it's pepper spray/mace. They have to ensure no German woman can defend herself against a refugee.

I was not joking, and I see it as a can now. The first time I looked at the image I saw the can looked like a person from the waist down and shoes pointing away from the gas. It makes so much more sense now lol.

"stricter laws"

Yeah! That'll teach those guys that regularly ignore the law! God, they're so smart. You know what they need is a National Knife Association.
