I liked Knight fine, it was like Revalations is to Brotherhood.
The first was brilliant, the second didn't mess with the core formula too much, but it was a bit dusty, and the new stuff wasn't as cool.
The story is obviously less magical. But it still has some great moments and the Joker bits are very enjoyable. Even the playable cutscenes are workable, they're there with purpose and produce feelings and investment rather than being a slogfest to pad the playtime out.
It may also be hindsight bias, but I found the batmoble portions to be mercifully shorter. Though still hateful to the gods and all people of discernment.
Tl;Dr Arkham city makes you feel like you're batman. Markham City makes you feel like you're reading a pretty good TPB of batman.
I feel the same, I've gotten a decent way into it but nothing calls me back. I played Asylum in a weekend because I didn't want to put it down.. There's nothing I recall bad about Knight. My opinion, it went too far with the open-worldness and too short on the story. I preferred the tight smaller scale story of Arkham Asylum of the three. Most like City more though.
I'd say the thing about Knight was that the major new thing added (the Batmobile) was extremely unpolished. Speed segments were clunky when it came to driving. I don't recall too much issue with tank segments though.
Knight is a mixed bag, there’s some absolutely great parts, it’s one of the most visually polished games I’ve ever seen, but it’s held back by a lot of bullshit. It’s like the Return of the Jedi of the Arkham games.
Bad news is a lot of the incompetents will fail sideways. Theyll get hired by other studios. Although, a lot of studios are downsizing and closing.. but it seems studios love to double down. Theyll hire the DEI while firing as much competent people they can get away with. Hope im wrong.
Other rumors say they're moving the team over to work on Hogwarts Legacy. You know... taking the team that made their biggest failure ever and putting the on their biggest success ever.
It's amazing to me how easily/effectively the shitbag left has seemingly been able to capture all these companies.
We have this capitalist system that is absolutely driven by trying to continuously increase profits; seriously - the left often complains that this very system does this, to a fault. Yet, somehow, all of these game companies, Disney, et. all, now act in a way where increasing the shareholder value doesn't mean anything anymore, and they let the activists in charge throw away massive amounts of money, and destroy massive brand names, as a direct result of pushing their fucking politics. How???How are they managing this, without something in the system forcing them to focus on making money? Billions of dollars have been pissed away. Giant brands like Star Wars have been flushed down the toilet? How is the "greed" of our system being overriden, and not correcting this?
The system should be kicking these people - the idiots making the decisions that are costing others tons of money - to the curb, but it's not. What has happened?
Because the profit motive is a lie. Most people are not rational actors and do not pursue profit to the expense of all else.
That's two strikes against. Add that most people are also stupid and that means that even th3 ones who are profit motivated won't actually do things that create profit.
The profit motive exists at the top. But at that point the rules of profit aren't the rules of products and people. They're the rules of politically avoiding decapitation.
Besides, it costs less to hire an incompetent contractor to write storylines than it does to have the guys working on the game engine do it. Plus you don't have to pay them benefits or cover FMLA time if you keep the women sequestered to outside help.
And Leftists are stupid, you can guilt trip them into buying a terrible game anyway.
A few reasons. 1. Is that they are playing the long game. Brainwash enough kids to create a market that will lick this slop up. They assume they will remake profits when enough people are brainwashed. 2. They somewhat get compensated by ESG with favorable loans and subsidization. Smaller companies will die and get consolidated. But big companies will survive a long time. 3. They are just globohomo commies.
But yeah.. the law states that companies has to make an effort to do what they THINK makes money for investors. Thats probably the key word. They sell investors or the law that brainwashing kids will yield profits later.
Theyll claim its not woke enough hehe. Always double down. But yeah.. what they "THINK" will make profit. Although.. i would imagine the law wouldve also state that investors should see profit YoY.
They made two good games and then sold out all their value on DEI and that can't be redeemed.
Best bet is to shutter it up, take the best and relocated them to a proper new name and hope that people can forgive them.
We'll always have Asylum and City.
I keep meaning to try Knight. But I always feel like I’m in for a chore to play that game. At least it’s not woke shit?

You also got to explore the entire asylum top to bottom, whereas most of the city buildings are just set dressing.

there is no place to go. all of mainstream gaming is infiltrated. there is no "proper new name" to go to.

It's the leftist way: parasitize successful things because they cannot create any of their own and then ruin them.

The National Science Foundation received $7.8 billion in taxpayer dollars for their DEI support.

How many times can they be shown otherwise before it becomes obvious they're deliberately going against value?

I mean. How much more woke can hogwarts get? Already has a tranny and +30% of chars are PoC. Unless its the incompetence part.
With the amount of game studios shuttering, it seems like this is less recession, more reset to origin.
After they Skullfuck Hogwarts Legacy of course.
It already got skull fucked. Why do you think that trender was in there?
Yes. SBI should be directly associated with studio closure
WB is not one to talk. They are being sold for pennies right now.
Gen Z will open their big wallets and come to the rescue. Just you wait.
