Microsoft REALLY misread the situation especially if they insist this on current games as right now, Xbox gamers are begging to play Helldivers 2 but Sony exclusivity is stopping that. When that runs out and it STILL can't come because Microsoft insists they hire SBI and make changes, you're going to see an abandonment of the console.

Windows 10 was easily the worst hot mess of a program I have ever seen. It took easily 4 months of work for me to get a series of tweaks, registry edits and programs that would beat it into submission at my old workplace. And even then, Microsoft made sure that those tweak broke other things.
You know I figured their master plan was to turn GamePass (and gaming in general, given the rate they vacuum up developers and publishers) into Netflix, but they're being quite literal about it.

Years ago, I got an Xbox Series S because 1) I had never owned an Xbox-brand console before, and 2) it would've been the Series X due to how much of a proponent I am of physical media, but the global parts shortage at the time meant I had no clue when they'd be more available again, and the X was around $800 at this point.
I got the Series S knowing it was a calculated risk.
Not only am I not buying a digital-only console again, I am not buying an Xbox again.
I've had their game pass for years, as I'd built up maxed out Xbox Gold credit ages ago and spent a dollar to upgrade it. It finally goes away in June of this year. I can get it indefinitely for half price via some discounts I have access to.
I was leaning towards keeping, but I think at this point it's going to become how much do I have to buy that I was "leasing" to just rid of it forever. I don't think they release another new game I want at this point.
