See if your phone supports Graphene OS. It's a pretty painless install process. Also, if you want, it still lets you install and run Google apps in a sandbox that prevents them from spying on your entire device or phoning home to the mothership when you're not using them.

I just use protonmail for anything important. It works fine with degoogled android.
