I can tell you that if people are spraying gunfire, there will be more wounded and fewer dead. Just because an AR is involved doesn't tell us much.

I haven't seen what video you're talking about, but I can tell you that confusion and chaos with normalcy bias can cause a ton of strange behavior. You hear a bunch of pops, and it takes a few seconds to know what the hell is going on.
A moving target is hard to hit, doubly so when the shooter is bunny hopping, triply when the the shooter is waving the gun in the direction of the target one handed while firing instead of aiming.
There seems to be a discussion that the gunfire took place adjacent to the parade but not in it, with belligerents fleeing through the crowd. Decoy Voice posted this video which suggests that one suspect was apprehended with an AR pattern weapon of some kind. Can't tell from the picture if it's a rifle or pistol, but the buttstock looks like it could be a rifle of some sort.
It wouldn't surprise me if it were perhaps some sort of an assassination attempt on someone the perpetrators knew; like a rival gang member or former associate.

To be honest, I would absolutely believe gang violence. Could be terrorism, but it wouldn't surprise me if some gang decided the for the fuck of it.
On the other hand, I'd like to know why anyone survived. These guys should have been met by heavy gunfire from the large police presence.

30 injured can also include the fat lady who had an asthma attack and the old guy who skinned his knee when he stumbled.
Nah it happened immediately at the end of the parade in a slightly confined area (for that level of people.) Its quite likely a crush occurred.
