I remember the time when people were circlejerking over gay marriage being legalized on social media, I raised the point on a news aggregator comment section that we may as well just let people marry anything, including animals, because "love is love" as they say. The replies were an unsurprising mix of venom and upvoted text walls explaining how animals don't consent. I challenged them to prove that animals don't consent, but they just ignored me at that point (I posted anonymously so they couldn't ban me...though eventually they shut down anonymous comments).
But I'm sure they must be more than happy with the point of degeneracy we've come to.
I honestly thought animal relationships would happen first. Didn't see the "men can be women" thing coming. I guess thinking that Western society would reject a blatant tautology and LARP was setting the bar too high.
Pretty much. It's actually insane how a bunch of actual, literal pedophiles get upset over so-called "sexualization of children" in animated fiction. Especially when, as someone else mentioned, a bunch of the people enjoying the "children" (often not even presented with especially child-like characteristics anyway and, again...animated and fictional) are themselves quite young. There's nothing wrong with young people finding other young people attractive. Sure, there are disgusting weirdos who take it way too far, and we should be wary of them, but it's not the norm.
I think that's part of the problem; they can't separate fiction and reality, and take everything literally. It's amazing how pervasive the theme is in general. Whether or not people can take a nuanced perspective on reality, and acknowledge troublesome facts, seems to be a major dividing line in the left versus right, conservative vs progressive mindset. Which, to be clear, is not to say all right/conservative people are clearheaded, or all leftists are insane. But it's a common theme. Utopianism version rationality.
At one point I might have been inclined to discuss things with people on the other side, but if you're screaming about how people who like Hana Uzaki (a short college girl with huge tits) are pedophiles, you're just friend/enemy raging and it's not possible for me to communicate with you in any meaningful way.
They're mad that people generally have a positive view of Japan and it's media, while having a heavily negative view of their own bullshit. It destroys the narrative that people don't like them because they're bigots, and shows instead that they just suck ass at creating interesting and compelling media. One Piece specifically has tackled pretty much all of their pet issues in depth, but has done so in a way that isn't offensive to everyone else. Hell, one of the main protagonists is based pretty much directly upon gun loving hillbillies. Oh, and Bonney's father here is the shining ideal of a good, strong, Christian man who sacrificed everything for his daughter.
Of particular note, the character in question was presented in her "adult" form long before it was revealed that she was even capable of changing her appearance, and even longer still before it was revealed that her natural age was 12. And even then she wasn't ever really one of the popular girls in the series among fans. That's one of the things that Oda is really great at though: subverting expectations about the characters in a way that is compelling and thought provoking rather than ham-fisted and mean spirited. He's even managed to create several "trans" characters that are actually well liked even by people who generally despise the current year LGBTQ bullshit.
Bonney creeps me the fuck out. Goddamn Japanese perverts, typical of Japan. Thankfully she's a bit character and hopefully will be out of the story circulation "soon." But that's the extent of it for me. I've always hated the Japanese (and weebs) but at least I can look past their weird shit and appreciate the bigger picture of a very, very long story.
God bless the community notes!
I feel like the goddess of karma and bitch slaps is their patron Saint lol.
This is one of the most brutal community notes I've see.
This is one of the best community notes I've seen!
Also liberals: "animals can consent!"

If only pansexual meant lusting over kitchen utensils instead of men, women, kids, animals, the dead...
What did your pans ever do to you to make you want to subject them to that fate?
Non-stick my arse
Every person who publicly rages out about anime girls who aren't 18 years old is compensating for being a much, much worse disgusting pervert.

The amount of shit i've seen thrown at Japan these days ,i've noticed how normalized it is to be racist against Japan on twitter these days .

Tweet archive.
The fact the community note included an archive is just the cherry on top. Superb.
He's big mad it's a fictional girl being sexualized.
"bitch your likes are public"
At first I thought it was just about fanart aging up a canon character, but this is a superpower of a child getting the Big treatment.

Does this mean that the 2000-year-old really-an-anctient-dragon lolis are fine now?
Go back to inkbunny, faggot.
I'm just confused. Does mental age matter or doesn't it?
The answer, of course, is always 'Whatever most advances our political position/lets us perform the most censorship.'
Community note decimation.
You love to see it.
