If I were governor of any red state, I would refuse to send any constituent to D.C. for either trial or imprisonment. It’s an illegitimate democrat racket.

I don't know who this other yid is, but I know who Steyn is. I can't say that I have any desire to shield Zionist shills from the left's attacks. It's not like Zionists shills would stick up for me.

The jury awarded Mann $1 in compensatory damages from each plaintiff. It also awarded $1,000 in punitive damages from Simberg and $1 million from Steyn.

Political persecution

Punitive damages are supposed to be rare and for malicious cases, and they generally don't exceed compensatory damages. I can't see how it's justifiable that compensatory damages (supposed to be a calculation of damages incurred as a result of the alleged tort) is 1/1,000,000 of punitive damages. $1 compensatory damages is an admission the plaintiff suffered virtually no damage. What a complete farce.

Jurors in DC are real dumb.

They were probably told they had to have some basis for compensatory damages but punitive could be awarded as they like. Well, they want to punish people who challenge their worldview, so there you go.

What the Washington Post & 26 other media organizations said in 2014 about the case:

"Mann essentially claims that he can silence critics because he is “right,” the judicial system should not be the arbiter of either scientific truth or correct public policy"

He's also obviously not right. ''Projections'' have been revised down because observable reality was so far off from the reasonable confidence interval it was falling off the graph.

A charitable eye could brush this off as chaotic variability for a while, but not for 20+ years after the data started raising skeptic eyebrows.

So if projections were based on incorrect modeling of temperatures and GHG effect ( usually calculated as ''warming per doubling of GHG concentrations'' ( exponential concentration rise leading to linear temperature increase )), then the policies supposed to ''save the planet'' from apocalyptic predictions inspired by those projections no longer have legitimacy.

But the media and government ''expert policy'' hysteria did not go down as projections got revised downwards. Quite the contrary.

Sort of like when the mortality rate of WuFlu came out to be well below 0.2%. The mandates kept getting more insane.

Zero child dying of WuFlu in Sweden for a year despite schools open did not cool the lockdown zealots shutting down buisnesses and schools elsewhere.

( Mind you, you'd expect dozens of children to die of combined colds and flus in a year. It seemed WuFlu just sucked at killing kids. )

Of course they did, got to stretch out that juror stipend as much as possible for the gibs.

Where is Mark Steyn living these days?

I didn't realize he left GB News a year ago.

His Wikipedia bio is very incomplete.

They state he's Canadian but provide no early life bio other than that his parents were from Northern Ontario and he was schooled in England.

They have his last known residence as New Hampshire, but the sources are 2015 or so.

I also vaguely recall Gavin McInnes talking about giving Steyn a show on his network, but Steyn acting crazy and fleeing to the UK.

I'm really curious to find out who this DC Jury is made up of. Nowadays I find the whole of Washington DC repugnant like the inhabitants of the whole town are just glowie adjacent or maybe worse kind.

Looks like DC is the place all the goofs are going to file scam lawsuits. First thing I'd do is file for a change of venue. You're not going to get a jury of your peers from that city of sociopaths.

What's happening right now is why you archive your links.

Someone DDOSd them. It could just be they got a bunch of traffic.

Either way, archive.
