He's definitely not dying from a heart attack or too much salt. The whole way he cooked it was entirely unnecessary. Could have just sprinkled on some salt, left it to marinate, then baked it, then seared it with butter instead of injecting it with fat like a normal human being... but I guess that wouldn't get millions of views and thousands of retards in the comment section.

The retard economy is truly out of control.

If you eat more salt than your kidneys can eliminate (which varies), it will fuck you up. Probably not a heart attack but neurological symptoms due to hypernatremia are very possible

Trust me, it’s hard to eat that much salt.

Yep. My dad has drowned every meal he's ever eaten in salt. He's 80 years old and even though he smoked for 50 of those years he's pretty healthy.

His argument always was "Don't try to regulate your salt intake, or your body will forget how to do it itself."

Consider how many millennials think they need to drink 18 glasses of water a day, and other shitty, stupid health advice.

Salt as enemy #1 is outdated and old news. Even "hippie" types have acknowledged this for some time (e.g., https://www.peoplespharmacy.com/articles/is-salt-good-or-bad-for-your-health ).

Re the water thing, while drinking a larger amount of water may not be a panacea, it's certainly not bad for you, and does help with kidney function, bladder function, etc., especially for people who are susceptible to stones.

And there are far, far worse, and far, far stupider (and more expensive!) things people could be doing than drinking water!

Over-hydration can cause, wait for it... salt deficiency!

People who try to scare me into avoiding 90% of all things edible have yet to rationally explain to me how people like your dad can live to be 80 in the first place. I'm over the hill and I've supposedly consumed enough meat to have inoperable cancer and enough microplastics to be shitting out credit cards...yet I'm in good health.

My dad works every day from sun up to sundown, and never eats after 8pm. He might be a Mogwai.

Only a fool wouldn't believe there was a coordinated effort to push people to eating chemical pucks being pumped out of factories over real, natural food. There's too much money on the table to leave it up to chance that NPCs should spend 3x as much for processed seed oils and HFCS with commercials and packaging alone.

* Edit for bonus meme

Look, chud, just because mega-billion dollar industries control the food market and have re-written the American diet over the last century does not mean that it's a conspiracy. Now drink your corn syrup liquid calorie Coke and eat your SIM (soy, insect, MSG) kibble.

Meat is murder, chud!

It's not just YouTube. One of the dirty, dirty secrets is that since about 1920, all of Western marketing has been based on subconscious manipulation. Look up Bernays ("The Century of the Self" is a good place to start) and how he radically changed marketing.

The shapes on colors of packaging are chosen to pander to your mind, scents are added to the store AC system to please your nose (ever notice how every single store in a chain smells exactly the same?), music is pumped in that is chosen to put you in a certain frame of mind (80s and 90s kids, remember "mall jazz"?). And then all of our entertainment media takes part, too.

Seeing wasted food just pisses me off instinctually. Why all that salt? Why fuck up a beautiful natural cut of meat by injecting beef fat?

This goober and his food experiments are sometimes funny, but this one was just dumb.

He even ends it with the "fat was honestly not necessary."

What a goober indeed.

Yeah, venison sausage or hamburger is too lean and honestly needs some pork or beef fat added to the mixer. But injecting fat into a steak is disgusting.

Fries aren't fries unless they're at least 50% salt!

Granted, McDonalds fries aren't fries either. They're soggy cardboard.

His channel is called 'Matt the Meat Guy' what do you expect? I've seen a couple of his shorts (him and a few others get recommended to me a lot) and it's more experimental with dry aging and the like to see if they improve things or not (typically little effect) with just classic good meat dishes here and there.

But social media retards gotta retard..

Consequence of enough people unwilling to distinguish inductive intuition from superstition is falling for formal-sounding folk wisdom. We ate fatty meats, nuts, and dairy just fine for thousands of years, but that doesn't satisfy our dutiful impulse to feel in control of their circumstances. My soy-minded father was also concerned with excess servings of protein (better than forced veganism), or jogging ruining fast-twitch muscles (which would have effected me if I wasn't already blessed with substandard cardiovascular organs. He was not a bodybuilder or powerlifter). Thanks, leaded gasoline.
