How the fuck they decide what is a burner vs a phone owned by people who don't like getting raped by the likes of AT&T is beyond me.
Edit: Per suggestion below, one option is textverified.com. I have verified this works. You can pay with crypto. As little as 75c
This is so that trannies can permaban by phone number. They hate the thought of free speech.
It's amazing that such a small group of people can be such a scrounge on the earth
Especially considering how small the groups they use as weapons against their enemies are.
I agree, black people can be so annoying sometimes. Wait, what were we talking about again?
Lookat dis fuggin cracka-ass cracka-cracka. Sheeeeeeit.
They are being actively promoted. Literally the bullied given a chance to get vengeance on the people that bullied them. It's a popular demoralization tactic.
That's why they are useful golem to have around for the elites. All their identity revolve around sexual gratification. I'm still wondering why we couldn't just nip the fucking buds earlier when it appeared. They are in fact the whole reason why I'm not too fond of the certain group that pushed these nutcases to the forefront in the first place.
Stop being anti Semitic.
this can also be used to ban people sharing CP though
The tranny jannies wielding the banhammer are the ones sharing the vast majority of the CP.
I watched Discord come into this world and was asking "Why?"
Discord is going the way of all Social Media and will censor and punish those who don't conform.
I'd say head on over to /b/ but those cucks were against us on day one and so it's time to properly start a subculture that is off the grid. I'll have to stand along with people I don't like just because I believe they should have free speech.
They are making their imaginary enemy into a real one through their actions.
what i find worse about discord is the amount of games that use it in lieu of proper forums
the amount of mods for games that have all the information as to how they work on some random discord server is too damn high
all the information on those servers is only available so long as the server exists (if the server is shut down by the owner throwing a shit fit its all gone), is only available to people who have joined the server ("free" users can only join so many servers at a time) and by extension is only available to people who can actually join the server, if you get banned you can't access it
none of the information on those servers is cached in archives none of it is findable with a search engine, discord is just one great big massive information blackhole where information goes in but rarely comes out again
how many times do you search about a problem you are having and you find the answer on some forum no one has ever heard of posted 20 years ago? with discord its not there and never will be
This is what I need. This is why they are asking me for a phone no.
I really loved IRC, back in the day. I only used it because I could get pirated oldgames/comic-scans/bookz, but I also really enjoyed the communities in those channels.
And the "fight" will not go how they think it will go,
Yep it is pain, But is also a point in showing that the computer literacy of people are really going down the drain, since they need something to be a button press in order to operate it, nope cannot setup their own or even use IRC, gotta have it as dumb as possible.
How much do you want to bet that next "communication program" will be something that require digital Id that the normies will jump on :D
The one argument I have against having dozens of messaging apps where everyone wants a different app is that each one takes processing power and memory to monitor for messages. This is especially a problem on mobile phones
I was able to run 4 different IM programs and an IRC client with no problems on a desktop with a Celeron measured in mhz instead of ghz and 128 MB of RAM that was probably 1/10th as fast as modern RAM 20 years ago and I could still browse webpages that were more responsive than modern web designs.
That's before websites used 10s of MBs of just JavaScript and every app is no less than 50MB with most being hundreds.
Fun fact: they have investors because once the data they have accumulated is worth enough money, the company gets sold to the highest bidder and that's how those investors get their profit. This is standard practice. Stop being so naive, people.
Use IRC.
I miss TeamSpeak and Ventrilo...
Bro i sincerely miss irc
a lot of the old IRC networks are still around, and we sure could use some new blood.
I used IRC decades ago, and even back then the "large rooms" had power-tripping gatekeepers that banned people willy-nilly. Some things never change.
Are you a bot, buddy?
ICQ was the real deal. Good times back when MPlayer and Ten weeded out people who had no business being in gaming.
my group still uses teamspeak
discord is only for text chat, memes, streams and videos
the data brokers already have IP addresses and device signatures and whatever other snooping the discord ap does so it isn't about anonymity
this is specifically so that the gay commies can retaliate at anyone who even slightly resists the regime-approved narrative
To make an account or to join certain servers? If they started doing the former I'm full on abandoning the platform, screw all the projects housed there. Some things belong on the clearweb and for everything else, there's open-source and federated alternatives just complicated enough to scare the walled-garden phone Stans.
Join some servers I have noticed I am not giving them my phone number, fuck that. I also noticed for making a new account it can get "flagged" and you NEED a valid phone number. I got locked out of one alt I had.
I think individual server admins can require a verified phone number for their servers.
To do a lot. But you can make an account without one,.
I looked it up, this has been a thing for a while but only seems to kick up under specific circumstances. Mainly when joining certain kinds of servers or doing anything "suspiciously bot-like".
No idea if they've applied it to new account creation though. I know a few services have done that, (without doing so retroactively) over the years.
Suckiest part is if you do opt in, you cannot ever get that number removed.
Using a vpn already flags you. I had to give my phone number on an alt I had, I obviously did not and just abandoned that one.
I am not giving them my "real" number. NO way. If I can get a burner that works, as someone else suggested, I'll do that.

I edited the post to include your suggestion.
Going to copy a comment I made a few weeks back:
US Mobile is also really cheap, $5-7 for a months use. Though, due to their intended customer base and the fact that they recycle numbers all the time, you may end up with a number that has been used for various services already.
What if my phone doesn't take cards but has eSIMs? You know a good place to get one of those?
I think what I really want is an actual different burner phone that works.
Actually I might be able to activate an old phone using SIM card. I should look into that.
Mint and US Mobile both offer eSIMs. I am not up to date on whether their eSIM offerings fall under any cheap trial offers, though.
Full disclosure, I use Mint for my primary number, 'cause it's cheap, but had no issue grabbing one of the trial SIMs and using it to set up some accounts.
If I order online, i gotta give em my name and address. If it's to be a burner, I'm thinking I should go buy one cash from best buy with a prepaid card. IDK if that will work, though.
I miss the days when we walked over to talk to people or called them on the phone. When get togethers were via mail or word of mouth.
I certainly don't miss the days of having nobody sharing niche interests and having nobody to talk about them with.
Is there something that makes a burner phone stand out from a non burner?
That's my question.
Old ways are the best ways. Start your own IRC server.
If you really need video and voice spin up a cloud server running Nextcloud Talk. Bonus end-to-end encryption.
Is that for new accounts? I dont use it much really, but if they wanted a phone number I am droping it. I dont even have a mobile phone and certainly wont buy it for that.
Apparently in response to suspicious activity or going to certain hosted chatrooms.
If you want it just use something like what I edited in.
I just wanted to ask a question about Starfield modding. In this case, I don't care about the politics.
