The thing I despise most about Crunchyroll is that it's a waste of a great business, if they just cut off the western side for decision making purposes they'd easily monopolise a lot of the anime streaming market. But because of dumb shit like this they invite competition and piracy.

Gurren Lagann is one of my favorite anime of all time.
If it were to be dubbed today, I GUARANTEE Leeron would be voiced by an actual flaming homosexual and not by Steve Blum acting very unlike most of his other roles.
It's part laziness and the other part is an attempt at ensuring the industry is only full of people with the same ideology to create hegemony as even if you don't believe it, you ONLY got in because of your minority status so know your place.

An article recently was talking about a doctor (like Larry Nasser) checking the female junk of soccer players. Anyways, the article called it confirming the gender identity.
This nonsense could be put to bed overnight if the creators and licensors would just give a shit about what happens to their art outside their borders.
I don’t get the issue here. The character is a woman and the actress is a woman. Makes sense to me! Half-baked gender theories, whether by Crunchyroll about the character or by the actress about herself, don’t enter into it for me.
