No source material though. Not like the idea of building a New Jedi Academy/Order has ever been thought of. Luke training young Jedi should’ve been one of the opening scenes of Episode 7. I know George wanted him on an island to meditate on the Force so you could’ve had one of his main students come to get him.

They're STILL trying to make Rey work when NOONE gives a shit about her.
You know who ironically had a chance, Finn. Having a former Stormtrooper turn against his former masters to even becoming a Jedi maybe even in the hopes of freeing/turning other Stormtroopers to go against the New Order sounds like a great storyline.
But no, ruin all his character progression, make him the comedic sidekick to the main female MC that just screams her name now and again... why I stopped caring after last jedi.
Fin had great potential and could have taken the series in a darker and interesting direction. But they didn't and he did not even have any dilemma of shooting other stormtroopers, assumingly some of them were his comrades. Great potential but his character was completely ruined in the first movie and then made even worse with that forced love interest.
meh, he was always an idiot and a shit character, and the actor is trash on and off camera.
The idea of a stormtrooper that joins the resistance but still has comrades inside would have made a very interesting side-angle to the story, humanize the empire, give a different perspective then the empire/ new order are just evil. But he apparently has no friends, he is the only black stormtrooper and he does not give 2 shits about the other stormtroopers that he would gladly kill and the new order are just some Sunday morning cartoon villains.
I remember when I was in the cinema excited about seeing the new star wars movie and seeing early on the scene that is suppose to be the moment when he wakes up to evils of the empire, it was so poorly done, so shallow, forced and just plain stupid.
They gave 0 depth to Finn but the character concept had potential, the actor I do not care. They went with tier B actors that were better suited to play Disney Channel teenage shows then a movie like Star Wars.
Most think the last jedi was trash but the force awakens was just as bad.
literally his whole character
"TRAITOR!!" was the greatest moment in that trash heap. It was the best action sequence overall, AND it actually had so much potential for character building.
All of it wasted.
Yea I felt bad for him at first then heard him during summer of love. Dude is a class A race grifter. Although I’m sure an interesting story could’ve been written
Yea. I’ve been reading EU books. True about Finn and with Rey I guess she was the first of a lot of female characters we would see later. I remember after watching TFA my brother thought it was dumb for Rey to be able to beat the bad guy after just learning about the force. Of course we would see her go on to lecture Luke Skywalker
Don't worry, they'll fix Rey up and make her more popular than ten Superbowls! For example, every time she's not on screen, someone will ask "Where's Rey?"
What is that from? I could swear I’ve heard that in a skit
The simpsons when homer voiced poochy the dog.
That’s it! Can’t believe as big of a Simpsons fan that I am I forgot
Maybe everybody loves raymond, but I've never watched it so I'm not sure.
The Plot: Evil white man tells Rey she can't accomplish her goal.
Rey does a bunch of side quests before her goal is handed to her.
Some extras do a gay kiss.
The End.
Don't forget to point out this will happen in a modular, easily removal cut for distribution in all the countries that tell Wokies to pound sand.
Sometimes at speed.
From a rooftop.
I expect that they are going to try to give some flaws to Rey. It will be done in a shallow way and a black lesbian woman scientist jedi doctor pilot will make Rey see that the obvious bad thing is in fact bad. Rey then holds a speech about how great the other woman is. Men are around but will do nothing, women will do everything except cook.
Evil something will just happen as a side story to all the girl drama.
Ends on a message that unity, diversity and equity is what wins the day and is all good.
edit: and all the men clap like retarded seals
Have you read any of the NJO?
Are you secretly a Disney writer? Lol.
Or she will have a someone [and old woman] give her a random life lesson midway through the story which Rey will remember during the final confrontation and realise it solves everything then after pausing, closing her eyes, and taking a deep breath she will say she never needed the goal in the first place and her chasing it was only because the the bad guy told her to.
She's a stronk indypyndynt wamen who don't need no man to tell her how to live!
And then everyone claps 👏👏👏
Yea. I’m not watching but it just annoys me how they recycle these ideas as if they came up with it. Hopefully this bombs
I'm already very apathic towards starwars. I was a big fan before I was called a racist and sexist, then I was angry, then I was kind of hopeful they may fix it and now I'm completely indifferent to it.
Yea. I cancelled Disney plus and decided to just read the pre Disney books and consider 1 to 6 the only movies
You should try the KOTOR games. They are not hard to play, are story driven and capture star wars better then you expect.
I know people did not like KOTOR II. The villains are unfinished and the story needs a bit of fixing here and there but still better then anything Disney produced.
In my opinion the games capture the universe very well
Obsidian did make Pillars of Eternity, the first one was ok but not great, the second one was total crap but I think Chris Avellone did not work on the second one.
I just think Kotor II was rushed, it had a very interesting premise, I did like the companions, the Kreya dialogue was cool in certain parts but all the rest felt shallow
visas best girl
The game is unfinished! Both the actual ending and things like the droid factory were never properly included so there's so much more KOTOR 2 could have done but didn't.
Agreed. KOTOR II blows anything from modern Dissknee out of the water. And it isn't even as good as KOTOR.
I actually plan to check it out on steam
Even with the unfinished story, I still prefer KOTOR II. It's also a really good contrast between the writing skills of Obsidian (KOTOR II) and Bioware (KOTOR).
More Disney Star Wars?
yawn
Too little and far too fucking late, Disney. You already shit the bed, set it on fire, and then realised you need a plan for the franchise you bought for $4Bn. Hope you all get remembered for this fuck up wherever you go.
You always hear about these movies making so much money.
Where are the packed theaters?
Are they counting every single subscriber to Disney Plus towards a movie's gross?
The tickets that Disney buys themselves to launder their illgotten gains.
Oh please do. And spend billions on making it, Disney.
I won't watch it, but I will watch your stock price fall.
Good idea. I used to have Disney stock.
Who's going to watch it
Hopefully nobody but there are Disney Star Wars shills out there
Good. Let Disney really piss on those ashes. Pour salt into the earth, leave nothing viable.
True. I doubt they would ever sell it at this point
At the start of TLJ when Rey was on the island I was almost hopeful they were going to introduce the Gray Jedi, and Luke was disillusioned with the Jedi but was about to tell her that there's a third path...
But no they had to "subvert our expectations" by continuing to ignore as much EU canon as possible.
Yea that was the last chance for a good Luke. I know Abrams had Luke levitating two large boulders but Rian took it out. Also I’m the early drafts Luke was in it more prominently but then he was removed. I still have my stacks of EU books at least.
