No one is “indigenous” to America. They did not spring up out of the ground here. You can claim that American Indians came here first, but that is not a metric of being indigenous nor does that make the land theirs
The hilarious thing about "land acknowledgments" is that they only acknowledge the group that was on the land at the exact time the European explorers arrived. No mention of how many times the land changed hands in the 20000 years prior to Columbus's arrival.
Or the fact that the “indigenous” population had no real concept of ownership and viewed property as temporary, hence the term Indian Giver.
Sure but white ownership did prevent the way they had been using the land before. I think the current understanding is that primitive people develop rights to some land via use. However I am not aware of a country that actually routinely affords them such rights. Brazil tries.
IRL primitive people have no rights and everwhere have been expropriated. Not sure who can be on their high horse about that.
To be clear Amerinds on the rez aren't primitive anything. That stopped a long time ago. They're just bums.
Or when their current land claim is for reservation lands bequeathed to them by the Crown as part of a resettlement program hundreds of kms removed from anywhere close to where their pre-contact ancestors resided.
Try to construct the definition of native that the left uses on any basis other than: the last person to be there before white guys arrived.
Or dont. I couldnt but some leftist claimed to me its not like that.
Which ones?
Can we get some Fs in the chat for Clovis culture
or the mound men
We're all Pangean at heart.
Bill Whittle (I'm old) did a video on this a long time ago in regards to Texas.

Geez. I’m not Canadian but this pisses me off. Show me a country where the original inhabitants are still there today or a country that hasn’t seen some sort of land conquest on a large or small scale. Before the British arrived Shaka Zulu wasn’t very kind to the neighboring tribes. Just one of many examples
I'm not a regular Post Millennial reader. Is this VERB in caps thing normal for their headlines? I'm half afraid I'm clicking into a beanie man video.
It’s unfortunately pretty common in agenda-having media nowadays. They tell you in all caps which part is supposed to get you upset since they know nobody even reads the stories anymore before tweeting them, posting them on Facebook, whatever.
Probably. They are friends with Tim. I first noticed the style on DailyMail.
I'm not a regular reader either, but everything I've seen from them is decent. I obviously can't vouch for everything though.
"Oh Canada, our home on native lands,
We won that war, now obey our commands.
With glowing hearts, we see the rise,
Of the truth north, strong and free.
From far and wide, Oh Canada,
Beat Iroquois, Metis, and Cree!"
That's basically what I hear when I hear "our home on native land". It sounds like a taunt, a laughing acknowledgement, like a school bully going "oh, is this your backpack? Hah hah."
When i see all this "native" bullshit in North America, i always remember how in my country, the natives got their asses handled in a "GOT Red Wedding" kind of move from the goverment long time ago.
They just got fed up, and shut that shit down.
.
either give it back to them or stop stop jacking yourselves off about MUH STOLEN LAND.
I just want to point out that most indigenous peoples in North America had already undergone a population collapse in the centuries preceding European contact and that most of the land our ancestors occupied was already vacant by the time they got here.
Whoever built the civilization should be considered the real native. The only reason a piece of land matters to you is because of the civilization that was built on it.
LOL. I stopped standing for the anthem years ago.
Patriots.win has a lovely function the rest of the world should try with this trash: Deport!
I made a joke about rewriting the anthem a month ago.
