I fell for this. I started a new job during COVID hysteria and there was this receptionist where I worked I thought was really cute but she always wore a mask. She was pretty flirty with me and I almost asked her out one day but decided against it. After a few months I finally got to see her face once and holy fuck, she was extremely ugly. Really glad I never asked her out.

Big warning sign tho is she liked playing Genshin Impact (that community is basically horny tumblrinas). When mask mandates were finally lifted I saw her face and I was so damn glad I dropped the thought. Had curves everywhere but had a weird chipmunk face. Whew.

Well that and I learned she had a bf, and her bf - guess what - beta dude, super smart guy, but you know - the betas that most girls pick to "provide" for them. Looks nerdy af.

Funnily enough, I was just hearing from a VTuber I watch (I know, I'm sorry) that she still likes to wear her mask when she goes out in public because she has horrible self-esteem issues, and it lets her ignore most of her makeup, which she feels naked and exposed without.
Idk what's done more damage; the masks themselves and the ensuing dependence on them to "feel safe," or the tyrannical policies put in place on top of them. Authoritarians can be jailed and executed, and edicts rescinded and lifted, but how do you fix a person so irreparably damaged by constant fear and paranoia?

And, much like this mask thing, if you even point out that its a bit of a problem that they even think that way, they go full aggression on you and scream incoherent accusations at you of bigotry.
Remember to always verify first, do not think 'she's got beautiful eyes' is enough as if you struggle to perform because the face is bad (and from their life choices that's easy to do) then it'll hurt any relationship.
