Heres the problem, this doesnt matter to those with cognitive dissonance. I have debated the vaccine topic repeatedly and the need to submit to authority will always override any logic, because to not submit to authority is to be ostracized from the "in" group. This includes debating people like you local friendly physician assistants and doctors who point blank said that Fauci and the CDC never claimed the "vaccine" would prevent covid infection. It got so bad I just have a pocket compilation of the direct statements from Fauci and the CDC in my phone to pull up. This of course triggers the cognitive dissonance face and argument of "The science at the time". People will not admit that "authority" is wrong as long as their options are stay in line or be unpersoned. This is especially true in medicine where DIE has more authority than scientific practice. Think of it this way, imagine the sunk cost of 8 years of college followed by x years of specialization and residency. then when you are practicing any paper you write can be used as an excuse to shitcan you if it doesnt meet DIE talking points. If you could lose the decade plus of work and school cost that you will never recuperate if you are blacklisted over not being woke enough then the only people who will stand up are either those who have the temerity to say fuck it, or those who are beyond reproach. Lets be honest, when Dr. Peter McCullough has covid misinformation as a label on his Wikipedia page despite developing the therapeutic treatment that everyone from Joe Rogan to Tim Pool have used and swear by then what is a new hospital resident going to do?

Here’s my favorite- https://archive.ph/UEu1I

It’s a Reuters fact check in 2021 that aged soooo well.

After Fauci says, “We’re not sure, at this point, that the vaccine protects you against getting infected,”

After Fauci says that the vaccines are “very good, 94%, 95% in protecting you against clinically recognizable disease, and almost a 100% in protecting you for severe disease,”

The Cleveland Clinic explains here that “those who have been vaccinated may still be asymptomatic spreaders,” as the vaccines prevent illness, but “more research is needed to determine if the vaccines also prevent transmission.”

As clarified here by the World Health Organization (WHO), “Viruses, and the diseases they cause, often have different names. For example, HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. People often know the name of a disease, but not the name of the virus that causes it.” In this context, Dr. Fauci is describing severe or clinically recognizable cases of COVID-19, which the vaccines are highly effective at fighting.

That last one is especially brutal as the severe case numbers in the vaccinated have continually spiked despite boosters.

Fauci saying the vaccines are more effective than natural immunity- https://archive.ph/FUK4n

"Vaccines, actually, at least with regard to SARS-CoV-2 [the coronavirus] can do better than nature," Fauci, America's leading infectious disease expert, said. "Vaccination in people previously infected significantly boosts the immune response."

Video: Fauci admitted his herd immunity percent claims were “guesstimates” and again pushed 94-95% disease efficacy. https://twitter.com/SteveKrak/status/1343296272481067009?s=20&t=wsUoRdK_h43w_jauPc6hGQ

This is... well it would be freaky if I didn't understand what was happening.

CNN's medical woman, that asian doctor who never met a mandate she wasn't in favour of, admitted just yesterday in wapo that her kid's language had been hampered. It was all very tepid, pleanty of platitudes to mask-wearing, but it was fundamentally about how her kids wouldnt be doing it going forward. https://archive.ph/atp2c

And youtube is doing this today too?

Folk's, we're seeing an npc update, they're changing the narrative again.

No, but I do remember seeing people stuff their dirty fucking face diaper into their pocket or fish it out with their unwashed dick beaters. I also remember, 2 weeks into this clown fiesta, seeing the curry monkey behind me pull down his mask to cough into his hand. I wonder if my family doctor changes out her mask between patients so she's not carrying diseases from patient to patient. Probably not, the fucking streetshitter.

We have to sides, one saying that "masks obviously do work", the other "masks don't work", both very certain about something that is very hard to establish.

Do masks work? I don't know.

They don’t, I made a post here during the beginning of the pandemic to explain why. Essentially the “studies” they conducted were so bad and fraudulent that somehow masking for Covid has a higher success chance than masking for the flu. The studies they pushed were all done in hospitals that also have negative ventilation, sanitation standards, and where workers were “fitted” with n-95s. Here’s a fun fact, if you have any facial hair to include long peach fuzz you aren’t “fitted” as the fine hairs actually breach the seal. I’ll let you guess how many hospital workers shaved their facial hair before putting on a n95.

Just because you make a post or an argument, doesn't mean that it's suddenly absolute and undisputed truth. You could do that for the other side as well.

Essentially the “studies” they conducted were so bad and fraudulent that somehow masking for Covid has a higher success chance than masking for the flu.

Yeah, there's a lot of stuff dodgy about the 'studies' that they push (as there is about studies in general with the replication crisis). But absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. I think that at most you can say that you are not persuaded that masks do work, or that there is no evidence for it, not that you have definitive proof that they do not work.

Here’s a fun fact, if you have any facial hair to include long peach fuzz you aren’t “fitted” as the fine hairs actually breach the seal

How very transphobic of you.

’ll let you guess how many hospital workers shaved their facial hair before putting on a n95.

"Work" is a nonsense term. It's so vague you could give any answer and be right. Do hammers work? Oh, you said yes? Well I meant as a spray on adhesive. Hammers don't work at all when you use them for that.

Do masks stop disgusting people from sneezing directly into the air? Yes, of course. Does this make them less likely to spread disease? Almost certainly. Is this effect strong enough to have a real impact at the population level? Doesn't look like it, but maybe. Will wearing a mask protect you from COVID? Barely, if at all. Does a non-sick person wearing a mask do anything at all? No.

Yes, they do love their weaselwords. Safe and effective! What is the definition? By what standard are they 'safe'? Or 'effective'? Like Sowell said, everything is a success by sufficiently low standards, and a failure by sufficiently high standards.

Excellent response, because you've obviously thought about the matter, and are not spreading mindless BS because you don't want to wear masks. I think this is unfortunately different from the vast majority of people, who either follow supposed authorities, or who just come to conclusions based on prejudices.

Do masks work? I don't know.

Findings:

In pooled analysis, we found no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks

More corroboration over the years (dating back a decade)

Findings:

We identified 6 clinical studies (3 RCTs, 1 cohort study and 2 case–control studies) and 23 surrogate exposure studies. In the meta-analysis of the clinical studies, we found no significant difference between N95 respirators and surgical masks in associated risk of (a) laboratory-confirmed respiratory infection

A few more:

Findings:

None of the studies we reviewed established a conclusive relationship between mask/respirator use and protection against influenza infection.

Findings:

We included 15 randomised trials investigating the effect of masks (14 trials) in healthcare workers and the general population and of quarantine (1 trial). We found no trials testing eye protection. Compared to no masks there was no reduction of influenza-like illness (ILI) cases (Risk Ratio 0.93, 95%CI 0.83 to 1.05) or influenza (Risk Ratio 0.84, 95%CI 0.61-1.17) for masks in the general population, nor in healthcare workers (Risk Ratio 0.37, 95%CI 0.05 to 2.50). There was no difference between surgical masks and N95 respirators: for ILI (Risk Ratio 0.83, 95%CI 0.63 to 1.08), for influenza (Risk Ratio 1.02, 95%CI 0.73 to 1.43).

(There are loads more, but this one explains why masks don't work):

The faceseal leakage was found to represent the main pathway for the submicrometer particles penetrating into the respirator/mask. Thus, we believe that the priority in product development should be given to establishing a better fit that would eliminate or minimize the faceseal leakage.

Essentially, if you aren't wearing a full face seal, gloves, and a filtration unit, masks don't work.

I won't be responding to comments to this because I have other things to do. I imagine the people disputing more than a decade's worth of research observing the ineffectiveness of masks against respiratory pathogens will likely default to sophistry or cherrypicking for prevarication purposes, at which point it's just a waste of everybody's time.

IMHO, the reason for the masks were so that… Those who wanted to, could easily sort the “compliant” with the “non-compliant”…

They knew the masks didn’t work, and wouldn’t work. They didn’t care. They simply used it to sort those who happily “conformed” from those of us who would not, or in some cases could not easily, do so…

That’s my firm guess, from personal experience, anyway!

Hence the fear, shame and social lynching of those who didn’t play along, lol…
