It is funny when you put it that way. Thousands of years of empire, philosophy, and nation building, and some kid that grew up playing Minecraft thinks he can do better without having in most cases even read the greater history of the world or the ongoing conversations on it.
Augustus was 18 when he inherited what would become the Roman Empire.
When I was 18 I didn't even have a job.
The idea that I would made a better ruler than the most powerful man in history is simply ludicrous, and yet we see people who think if they were in charge they would get communism right this time, even though they can't even maintain basic hygiene.
I found an interesting quote that I saved a while ago. It describes what you're saying fairly well.
“Out of every hundred new ideas ninety-nine or more will probably be inferior to the traditional responses which they propose to replace. No one man, however brilliant or well-informed, can come in one lifetime to such fullness of understanding as to safely judge and dismiss the customs or institutions of his society, for those are the wisdom of generations after centuries of experiment in the laboratory of history.”
By far the most annoying thing about progressives is the unearned smugness. They are so proud to believe what every major institution tells them to believe. The grooming is actually the most annoying thing but the smugness is a close second.
How does one reconcile both open borders policy and the existence of a welfare state? Your only options are ignorance or malice; either you don’t understand why these things are mutually exclusive, or you do understand - and you are actively seeking collapse.
The third option is deliberate denial, which is a bit of ignorance and a bit of malice.. They just ignore the conflict by turning their brains off, being told what to believe, and training themselves in doublethink
I have talked to people like that and it's willful ignorance. You point out that people will naturally leech off a system that let's them - it's human nature - and they pretend not to believe you. You tell them that providing illegals welfare will encourage even more illegal immigrants and they say that's a good thing. Whether it's Hispanic "undocumented workers" in the US or African and Arab "refugees" in Europe, they'll assure you that 100% of them are hard workers who just want to take care of their families and will add more to the system than they take, no exceptions. They aren't taking jobs from us, they're taking jobs nobody wants. Tell them horror stories of immigrants committing crimes and they will rattle off a bunch of sCieNcE articles that are supposed to prove that more welfare makes the economy better, and by "giving people a hand up" they'll almost always use that money to improve their lot and get a job or start a business so they won't need it anymore. The discussion may even wander to the promising future of UBI where we'll all live in a utopia and do whatever inspires us - funded by taxpayers - and that will somehow make the economy better than it is today.
Bringing down the economic system is the intent. Ever since the United States started succeeding above the rest of the world, the thought on the minds of globohomo socialists has been "how can we bring it down?" They're not particularly shy about this, though when speaking to an audience that wouldn't appreciate that message, they can tell a different story. Someone like a Biden doesn't say "we're smashing capitalism" -- just does everything that pushes in that direction.
Wasn't citizenship already Jus Soli before the 14th and the citizenship clause were crated? Meaning, being born in the US to free parents, even visitors, conferred US citizenship.
It's extremely entitled but on the other hand she's doing what's best for her upcoming kid. If only progressives would care that much about their offspring (and children in general) instead of sacrificing them at the Altar of Virtue.
Or maybe she's doing it for herself and using the baby as an excuse. Either way the system is the problem, not the woman gaming the system for the benefit of her family.
Off topic but the archive page gave me this message asking for donations:
They’re trying to change history—don’t let them. The Wayback Machine is a crucial resource in the fight against disinformation, and now more than ever we need your help. Right now we’re preserving history as it unfolds, keeping track of who’s saying what and when... ...Access to information is more crucial than ever—if you find all these bits and bytes useful, please chip in.
I thought it was interesting because that's the first time I noticed Archive.org advertising itself as a defense against news sources changing their articles. We all use it that way but it always seemed aimed at saving old pages for historical purposes in case websites shut down.
Although maybe somebody should remind them of this message when they delete Taylor Lorenz's tweets.
Another 40% are outright criminals fleeing prosecution, rapists, gang bangers and street level enforcers, cartel smugglers (for either drugs, women, or children, and that is for devious purposes, not a virtuous smuggler just trying to get someone to a better life)
Then we have a whopping 20% are generally good dudes actually just trying to make it, make some money to send home, or get their kids to a country with an actual education and prospect of coming out of the trash. We want this 20%. We love this 20%.
Islam is right about women (as are all old school religions). And progressivism is wrong about... everything.
Progressivism is a bunch of jobless morons thinking they know better than literally every great ruler of every great civilization in human history.

And yet so utterly convinced that it's right

End the anchor baby loophole.
Created for emancipated slaves, abused for countless decades.

The Supreme Court case that decided birth right citizenship was argued using the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution. Time to revisit it.

The wiki page the other guy linked says it's wasn't well defined, but since jus soli was the common law principle, basically yes.
Why isn't the father providing for his family?
Which father? This type of Kartrashian wannabe slept her way across the continent, I bet.
The media loves sob stories like this
As do the mushheads who watch them.
Abort her baby, give her a hysterectomy, and then deport her to somewhere in the Eastern Hemisphere.
Nyc huh?? Just give her an abortion.
She has those AOC titties.
Plastic ones?
Has anyone coined the term "mom bomb" yet?

The parasite and the system are the problems. Purge both.
End birthright citizenship

This is 40% of the immigration to the US.

Fuck that 20%, too. They suppress wages, increase housing and rental costs, erode our culture, and vote for the destruction of America.
That 20% need to stay home and fight to fix their shitty country.
Speak for yourself.
send her back if she won't publicly, loudly, and psychotically repudiate the venezuelan government.
